Initially, we booked other apartments in Baku, but ran into unscrupulous realtors, then into a hotel where there were no rooms available, then into the hotel that settled us, and 15 minutes later reported that this room was actually occupied too... In general, it was a long story, we checked in, where we checked in, after hours of searching for a hotel with bags, we no longer cared where. But only on the first day, because we were tired of getting to Baku from our country for two days. We travel to different countries twice a year, and usually take 4-5 star hotels - all this background was needed to make it clear that our hotel requirements are, say, higher than average, but if you are more unpretentious, you may like the hotel. I will tell you about everything in detail, and the decision, of course, is yours.
1. The hotel has an excellent location. Perfect. Especially our room - it went somewhere on a closed roof or attic, or something... But since the hotel is located on a moderately noisy street in the very center of the city, the noise did not bother us. Generally. We slept like babies. Whoever gets a room facing the street may be disturbed by music until about one o'clock in the morning. But we had a view from the window... It can be seen in the photo. We just didn't open the window)
2. We were supposed to have a refrigerator among the amenities. We were reminded about it 4 times (instead of a refrigerator in the closet, you can see in the photo what happened), we were fed "breakfast", but the refrigerator did not appear until the end of our stay.
3. The staff was nice (though not always helpful, as in the case of the refrigerator), but they were polite, smiling, and generally nice. The girl who worked during the day does not speak Russian very well, but it is possible to communicate in simple phrases; the young man who worked at night spoke well.
4. The air conditioner was on and worked well.
5. The TV is very small.. But - you can insert a flash drive into it and watch the movies you brought with you.
6. The clock didn't work for us.
7. Two 0.5 bottles of water, tea, sugar were free.
8. We didn't have enough shelves in the closet - there is only one shelf.
9. There were sockets on both sides of the bed - that's good.
10. The walls, carpet were dirty, dishes and furniture were chipped. One day, after cleaning, we were left with such a teaspoon that it is simply unthinkable to offer such spoons to guests... It seems that the spoon is more old than Baku itself.
11. There is a liquid soap dispenser (dirty), but there is no soap in it.
12. There were some disgusting slippers in the bathroom. Judging by other reviews, these are not left by the previous guest, but intentionally left by the hotel for guests. If so, I recommend the hotel to throw them away, they scare the guests.
13. Breakfast - 5 manats (250 Russian rubles for September 2024). It was the same all 3 days that we were at the hotel.
14. There is no elevator. You will have to climb the stairs with bags.
15. The sidewalk at the hotel is in a sad state..
16. There is an ironing board and an iron in the common hallway.
The only thing we were happy about all the time we were here was the location. The old town is less than 3 minutes on foot! There are a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby, a large number of attractions can be reached on foot, in 10-20 minutes. The hotel may well suit those who are usually accommodated in 2* options (two-star hotels).
The location is the only advantage of this hotel. We arrived, went up to the hotel and a surprise awaited us. More precisely, no one was waiting for us, the admin has eyes for 5 kopecks. What was the point, our flight was delayed and we arrived 2 hours later than planned. As a result, the administrator said that he had decided everything and took us to another hotel under the pretext that they had a "hotel chain". The hotel is a nightmare in one word. We went to deal with the admin, in the end they settled us in Bristol, hooray, we think we'll finally have a rest. As a result, the room was killed, the light did not work, the refrigerator did not cool, forget about the TV at all, they did not even give us bathrobes. In general, no, and no again!
Excellent location. The very center, pedestrian zone. Everything else is so bad that it's hard to even describe. Shabby furniture, very tired repairs, hot water with such interruptions that you can't catch the pressure, then the temperature for several days, dirty, sewer blockages and drains, the TV does not work. There are not even curtains on the windows. Breakfast, trouble. An unpleasant place.
