Istanbul Railway Museum is a fascinating place for anyone interested in the history of transport and engineering achievements of Turkey. The museum is located in the Sirkeci district, not far from the famous train station, which was once the terminus of the legendary Orient Express
The museum is not very large, so if you expect the scale of European railway museums, it may seem modest.
Some exhibits require restoration, but this adds authenticity to them.
It is better to visit on weekdays, as there may be more visitors on weekends.
And it's worth noting that admission is free!
Firstly, it is free, secondly, it is located in the station building where the Orient express arrived, and thirdly, there are many interesting things for an inquisitive mind, although the museum itself is not at all large. If you just go in to take a look, then five minutes will be enough, and if you delve into it, scan QR codes, read interesting facts, then you can get carried away for a long time. But this is if you speak English or Turkish.
A tiny free museum with almost no people! I'm thrilled! You can view the exhibits endlessly. Everything is in Turkish and English, prepare a translator :)It is located at the terminus of the very Orient Express from the novel by Agatha Christie.
