I really like this train station, when you get off the train you immediately realize that you are in Provence. There are luggage storage rooms at the station. Once I came to Marseille for a few days, and then to the mountains and did not want to carry a ski cover with me, the guys from the luggage room allowed me to leave my gear with them. There are cafes.

For all my negative attitude towards Marseille, I like the main city station at least for its sculptural ensembles.
