I've always wanted to visit Versailles.I imagined how kings lived there, balls were held, the kings' favorites schemed. Beautiful territory, elegant buildings, historical place. If there is an opportunity, you can go there.
We were early in the morning, passed without problems. People were gradually filling up, and in many halls it is impossible to stop at all. Of course it is beautiful and authentic. Fountains are not working as always. They didn't get into the park, because they were preparing a playground for the Olympics.
It's just a fairy tale, but it was cold and rainy, a lot of tourists, armed military guards the palace, clean and beautiful, with a map in the form of a cross on top.
Both the exterior and interior decoration are indescribably delightful.
Do not take an evening tour with the show, they sing and dance so-so, nothing interesting, but the guides just make you run through the halls, not allowing you to linger for photos and a more detailed examination of the room decorations. Take the audio guide and go at your usual pace and look at everything.
Very restrained and even modest in appearance. Apparently, the money was spent on something else. It is worth visiting the palace and walking through the park.
This is my favorite love! A day is not enough to go around all the parks and the palace, having considered everything thoroughly. But stepping only on this land, you get soaked in this beauty and art!
I was in Paris for the third time and went to Versailles for the first time. I was in shock, I thought after Peterhof nothing would surprise me, but no, it's very beautiful here in its own way! You should definitely go to the palace and take an audio guide☝️
Beautiful, well-groomed, with old paintings by famous authors and royal chambers. If you also want to visit the park and the village of Queens and Trianon, it is better to start visiting early in the morning.
It's very interesting there, but our Peterhof is much steeper and more magnificent. But, in general, it is impressive too. There is Marie Antoinette's vegetable garden, cabbage grows, and huge carp crowd in the pond, and people feed them.
The largest castle in Europe. A very pompous and luxurious castle with a huge territory. There are very long queues. Buy tickets online, save some time. Not much furniture and decoration has been preserved inside. During the French Revolution, a lot was plundered, sold and is now kept in private collections. The French government sometimes buys things that once lived here from private collectors. Empty rooms are used for interactive presentation. Fountains will start working on May 1. At 15.30, the fountains are turned on and the musical performance begins. Well, as a performance, the music is different and the fountain is unchanged. You can rent a golf cart and drive to the village of Maria Theresa. An hour costs 34 €, do not forget to take your driver's license with you.
There was a huge queue to get into the Palace. But it was worth it! Then walk through the park and realize that the crowned heads of France once lived and walked here. The destinies of people and the world were being decided. We have repeatedly seen many elements of the Palace and the park in historical films of France. But it's one thing to see it on the canvas of the screen, and the other is to see it with your own eyes, breathing in the air of the Republic!
The palace and park ensemble in France, the former residence of the French kings in the city of Versailles, now a suburb of Paris; a center of tourism of world importance. Versailles was built under the leadership of Louis XIV from 1661 and became a kind of monument of the era of the "sun king", an artistic and architectural expression of the idea of absolutism.
An interesting historical building. The tour in Russian stops at the story about Napoleon :) There are few expositions (but maybe I was unlucky). It's not scary. A very beautiful park. Singing fountains, sculptures, neatly decorated alleys. You can lie on the grass in the shade of the trees. A positive charge and a sense of beauty remains for a long time!!! It's not boring to stand in line at the museum :)
It's a terrible situation, at this time of the year all the statues in the park are closed and there's not much to look at because on the day of our visit, part 2 of the exposition was closed, the paths are not the most convenient. +on the day of our trip, there were strikes and the RER did not work, which led to the fact that
we drove to Versailles for 40 euros, and back for 75 because the meters traveled were considered, and the time spent in a taxi
