The road from Samarkand to Shakhrisabz leads through the Takhta-Karacha pass, 1788 meters high, at this point the highway crosses the Zeravshan ridge. We were in October, so there were no difficulties when moving. There were no snow-capped mountain peaks or green meadows. In general, the views are not alpine, without the wow effect. But... Returning from Shakhrisabz, our guide-driver offered to have lunch at the pass, trying the local gastro specialty - lamb in tandoor. To be honest, at first we were skeptical about this proposal, the exterior decoration of the catering points did not make an impression, but after a little thought, we agreed and were not mistaken. Such tender and juicy mutton seasoned with mountain air has not been eaten for a long time!
