On Bac Street, at No. 1 (1 Rue du Bac), lived "Charles de Batz-Castelmore d'Artagnan, captain-lieutenant of Louis XIV's Musketeers, who was killed at Maastricht in 1673 and immortalized by Alexandre Dumas," as evidenced by the corresponding commemorative plaque. A little further from the Louvre, the barracks of d'Artagnan's Musketeers used to be located on Buck Street.…
