A very memorable place for Orthodox Christians: The Holy Martyr Isidore and the 72 martyrs (men, women and children) who suffered with him are especially revered in Estonia, where they received the martyr's crown. A hundred years ago, on May 16, 1896, not far from Yuriev, in the town of Valka, the first church was founded in honor of these confessors of Christ, who were killed by the knights of the Livonian Order for their refusal to convert to Catholicism.
