It translates as the New Swan Stone. Of course, the decoration is not Winter))) but this is an incredible/fabulous/magical place that is so inspiring!!! There you have to propose to your princess (And there's an Old Castle nearby, more modest, where the crowned descendants of the king still live, half of it is open, and to complete the experience, it's better to start the tour there). In Neuschwanstein, in Wagner's room, you look out the window and begin to understand his strange music. Thanks to Disney, the whole world knows the castle, he captured it in cartoons.
And, yes, nearby in the forest is the very Swan Lake that once inspired Tchaikovsky!
The town of Schwangau (Swan area), which is nearby, is good for its thermal baths, so spending 2-3 days in these places is unforgettable and magnificent!
Impressive and amazing! Huge territory, beautiful views of the surroundings from above. A fairly steep climb up. It's not always possible to get inside for a guided tour. Part of the castle may be closed to the public or under renovation. But, despite this, the impressions are the most positive.
Neu-Schwanstein Castle (almost broke my tongue)... translates as SWAN STONE. In 1869, it began to be built at the behest of King Ludwig 2. Relatively recently. After they forgot Napoleon's campaign, it turns out. Gothic style. On the mountain ... and it's not so easy to get there, although there is a road, but going uphill, even on the road, is not an easy task. They offered to ride in a carriage with a horse... they refused. We decided to feel the beauty of the moment with our feet. And how evil the snow fell at that time.
The castle is not big. It is organized as a museum: a bedroom, an office, a ceremonial hall and a dining room. We went somewhere else. In general, everything is fleeting and there is little left in my memory, except ... a snack at the end. A small buffet. We got sparkling wine, rolls and broth. Everything that happened at that moment. By the way, the castle has become a Disney prototype. Which is why it is associated with a fairy tale.
