Ers vezér tere station, formerly known as Fehér út until 1990, is the terminus of the M2 line of the Budapest Metro. It was opened on April 4, 1970, on the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Hungary by the Soviet Army. The station is located at the intersection of Kerepeshi Street with Nagy Lajos-Kiray and Feher streets, which makes it an important transport hub. Next to the station is the terminus of the HÉV Ersch-Weser-tere—Gedelle line, which provides convenient connections to the north-eastern districts of the city. There are several large shopping malls and hypermarkets at the intersection near the metro station. The station of Ers vezértere is above ground, with two side platforms and three tracks, although only two tracks and one platform are used.
