I'll never forget my hometown dorm in Trouble and the supermarket in Riga where we bought groceries. And the canteen next to the dorm was cheap, but the food was good. I often ate breakfast there.
The dorm is actually quite good. It costs 0.8 base, but for this you get a location 20 minutes from the dorm, a penny within walking distance (if you need a store with a large selection, there are big Neighbors). If you are lucky with the block, then you will have a beautiful view of Nemiga (if you can say so of course), if not, then your windows will overlook other windows of the apartment building and will look after you or flashlights / lasers shine into your eyes. The blocks themselves are not bad: you can live. There are problems with cockroaches, they are very tenacious and there is little that can save them. There are necessary floor shifts that need to be worked out and this is very annoying, especially when you have a lot of pairs and there is no time to work it all out. In principle, for such money, housing in the relative center of Minsk with everything you need nearby is very good
The place of the golden mean in the university's dormitory system is between personal comfort and administration management. The learning process is possible with good neighborly relations and a desire to learn, otherwise it will drag you into adventures.
I was only on the floor of the military faculty. As for me, for 1st year cadets, VS is paradise. Although cosmetic repairs would not hurt. For Soviet times, it's SUPER. Not so much for modernity. Everything is comprehended in comparison😁
A great place for friendly guitar gatherings in the evenings, binge drinking and burnout, a less wonderful place to work. The best BGUIR hostel of all 4. The block is divided into 2- and 3-bed rooms. The unit also has a separate bathroom with toilet and shower. Each floor is divided into 4 wings and in each wing there is a 1st kitchen, in the kitchens there are 2 electronic stoves and 3 sinks, well, these are small things
You live together-three of you in rooms of 7m2, in cubicles, where there is one shower and toilet for five. Share a room with cockroaches. You fall asleep to the snoring of the neighbors from the room on the left and the screaming of the neighbors from the room on the right. Regular health checks, frequent inspections from ministries (for fire safety, the danger of terrorist attacks and what else there are) They also make you work out your accommodation - 40 hours of wholesale and 10 shifts of duty
During all my studies at the university, I have never crossed the threshold of dormitories, let alone living in them. But, after receiving my diploma, I was "lucky" to visit this institution. What I saw there shocked me. Do people really live in such conditions? 2 people in a room of 2m x 4m, without ventilation in stuffy conditions. It's not so much to live cramped, but even just to be there, there's nowhere to put things. And if the neighbor is also dirty… I also watched a column of cockroaches, which valiantly marched without deviating from the chosen route. I also heard about a bunch of disadvantages in the form of closing the dorm after 12, about some kind of duty, closing the kitchen at night, and other prohibitions and restrictions.
Is it exactly the 21st century? How can people be kept in such conditions?
I was there for about two hours. The experience is negative. I do not recommend it!
The good years of my life have passed here. There is everything you need nearby, from the store to the polyclinic. It's a long way to university, but young people are normal. We often walked. Self-check the block, which is also a plus.
The hostel is super, but there are a few cockroaches. People are great, Uzbeks are even better. The staff is kind and friendly, if not arrogant. One of the disadvantages is turning off the stoves after 12
Together with the rector's office, they bent under foreign students in order to cut more dough and pay off with checks to ordinary students in order to free up more places 10 out of 10
No one is allowed in except the people from the hostel

Hilton:) The best student years were spent here. And on the site of an attached elite residential complex, an abandoned building consisting of a basement stood for several decades. Gentle students have gone now, after 24 they say they are not allowed in. There was always a round-the-clock entrance from the end, although it only started from the 4th floor)))
If we consider all the hostels of BGUIR , then this is the most comfortable in combination with all the factors. Location, communication between blocks, etc. But of course there are more places in 4
A good dorm, very convenient location, the renovation is not old and very comfortable. Cons: As in kindergarten, they are not allowed outside after 12 a.m., and they are not allowed in at night. Not all kitchens have stoves working properly.
Shifts (sitting for 8 hours once a month on the floor, instead of studying / working), cockroaches and the administration, which does not consider students to be people. A 4th bed was put in the room, although it did not fit there, so the table stood in the middle of the room all year, even on all fours. I am very glad that I will not go back there anymore
The inattentive watchman. I, a stranger, passed by, she did not ask where and why. There are no benches in the hallway on the floors, the children were sitting on the floor on a blanket. Somehow a little shabby. Although the kitchen and toilet seem to be quite good.
Times are changing, but student dormitories remain on the same level. From Soviet times, only one thing has changed: there are more foreign students, students have become more arrogant, more uncultured ..... A Gadyushnik....
