Marienplatz in Munich, just where the New Town Hall is located, is one of the most beautiful and historically significant places in the city. The square is the center of Munich and attracts tourists with its unique architectural style and atmosphere.
The first thing that catches your eye is the magnificent new town hall (Neues Rathaus) with its Gothic elements and an impressive tower, where every day at a certain time you can see a musical carousel with figurines telling about various historical events. This spectacle is really fascinating and attracts a lot of viewers.
In addition, the old town hall (Altes Rathaus) is located on the square, as well as many cafes and shops where you can taste traditional Bavarian dishes and buy souvenirs. The atmosphere here is always lively and friendly, especially during holidays and festivals.
Marienplatz also serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the city. There are many historical buildings and attractions around the square that are worth visiting.
Overall, Marienplatz is a place worth seeing. It combines history, culture and modernity, making it a must-visit destination in Munich.
If you go through the arch, you get to the square, inside the Town Hall, where there is a chic restaurant with very tasty beer!
Awesome powerful space. I took the elevator to the top and from the observation deck I could see the whole of Munich, at the very top there is a book of reviews and wishes. It is impressive when the clock is dancing (11, 17 o'clock) - people from all over the world gather in the square and enthusiastically applaud and rejoice! Very impressive. There is cleanliness, order around, and you can have a delicious meal in a cafe right on the square. Brand shops, supermarkets, temples are nearby. Temples all together, for example, ring the bells very melodiously at 12 o'clock. I definitely recommend you to visit!
The beautiful town hall building. I did not find the clock with figures that start moving when the bells are striking interesting. But this is because we are spoiled by civilization and have already seen a lot in modern life and the Internet. The clock itself is not ancient and it appeared there in 1908. But for the people of that time, they must have been a miracle. Moreover, the scenes of the figures originate from the life of the Bavarian King William V and his wife, and this is a story related to Munich, and for the citizens of that time was a landmark. At the end of November, a Christmas market is organized at Marienplatz and it becomes very crowded, trade is revived, and a Christmas tree is installed. But the square itself is very beautiful at any time. The view of the towers and columns standing in different parts of the square and the protruding towers of the Frauenkirche make this square the hallmark of Munich.
A grandiose building in the center of Munich at the end of the XIX - beginning of the XX century, built in the Neo-Gothic style with many pointed spires. It looks very monumental.

Perhaps, if not the most, then one of the most beautiful sights of Munich. There is an inexpensive restaurant inside, there is a very beautiful view.
The architecture of the building is amazing. You can spend hours looking at it. But the square near the town hall cannot be passed by tourists during the day. It is very dirty, this is the only disadvantage of this place...
I was in Munich on the day when Bayern and Galatasaray played in the Champions League. The city center and this particular square are full of Galatasaray fans! Where are the Bayern fans? Why they gave the city center to the guests. And in the end, Munich was like Istanbul))
It's a beautiful place. Majestic architecture. Behind the town hall in the cellar there is a beautiful beer hall - a masterpiece from an aesthetic point of view, domed ceilings, frescoes. Beer, like everywhere else in Bavaria, is delicious) I highly recommend it. well, in front of the town hall, besides itself, various interesting events are not uncommon.
Marienzplatz, the heart of the city, is unreal to pass by!
