I have deep respect for Jamie Oliver, somehow in a previous life I already got to him in London, I liked everything, it was so organically made and tastefully cooked.
Then I remember there was Jamie's kitchen in our Stable, it was so-so. They tried to make a rest from this project, Jamie himself came, but the level was a cafe, and in fact this food should be left in the cafe style, it does not reach the rest there. In general, it seems to have closed, it did not fire.
And today I absolutely accidentally stumbled upon him in Dubai, where I also absolutely accidentally got to for a day, I'll tell you a decent place. It is located, as it should be, just on the food court in Dubai Mall, an Italian cafe and nothing more.
What did you eat:
- Seafood soup, well, we ate better
- Pasta with mushrooms and truffle, this is a bomb, a long-forgotten sauce of real pasta, I would eat and eat this
- Greengrocer, in general it was a side dish on the menu, but it can be considered as a small green salad, a very pleasant mixture of steamed green onions, broccoli and peas, that's why I love Jamie for such things (well, for roast beef too)
We went to dinner on Friday evening, the boarding was almost complete, most of the visitors ordered pizzas, pastas, garlic bread. We decided to try lamb ribs and lobster with pasta, additionally taking snacks from different varieties of cheese. Snacks for three, those that needed to be fried were simply overcooked, the cheese did not even stretch and the contents dried up. But the meat was simply spoiled, fried on an uncleaned grill from previous preparations, which formed burnt, charcoal crusts on the meat, giving the meat bitterness, besides the lamb burned from the outside was not fried inside. The pepper that went with the mutton was grilled on the same grill, and the story turned out to be the same, burnt places and bitterness, besides, for some reason, the cook filled it with a huge amount of oil, which made the pepper greasy and instead of emphasizing the taste of mutton, it wonderfully gormanated with it combining bitterness, and in places, the color is black, in short, they served a simple marriage. For that kind of money, it's rude to say the least. But the waiter listened to the complaints, looked at the charred meat, and simply melted into the hall, and we never saw him again. The conclusion is simple, in this cafe, and this is precisely a pizzeria cafe with the prices of an expensive restaurant, no more naked, since you can eat pizzas twice as cheap anywhere else.
The lobster was like rubber, it's the most expensive dish in the restaurant and that's how to cook it, I asked for a spicy pasta, the pasta was completely bland, my friends had burnt lamb with pieces of charcoal, it's the second most expensive dish, it means that their grill is not cleaned at all, we won't go there anymore and I don't advise you.
