the room is clean. I didn't notice any other advantages. the administrators are indifferent, arrogant, watching from the sidelines and seem to be mocking. I didn't see if there was an opportunity to eat or drink coffee. maybe I wasn't informed, but it was uncomfortable.
I booked 4 nights in this hotel, rested with my family and children. The hotel is located in a fairly quiet (but underground area, close to the local Squash and clubs), close to the center and the famous East Side Galery wall (within walking distance). There are four beds in the room: two single beds and one bunk bed (suitable for adults). A minimalistic room! There is a kind of hanger, but no cupboards. from the word at all! There is a TV, but all channels are in German. The room is warm, but the cleaner constantly turned off the batteries (when we were not in the room). Although after switching on, the room warmed up quite quickly. They cleaned every day (they also took out the garbage daily), but they did not clean under the beds (there was dust and dirt). Towels were changed if left in the bathroom or on the floor. The bathroom has a hairdryer, soap, shampoo and shower gel. The toilet and bathroom are separate (it was convenient). Unlike Columbus (a hotel of the same chain), there is a soft carpet on the floor in the common corridors. This is a big plus! because carpet reduces the noise from walking and suitcase wheels. The practical Germans thought of this moment (because the walls and doors are quite thin) and it was not as noisy as in Columbus! There are young guys working at the reception and the bar downstairs. Everyone will prompt and help if necessary. Also, in the hall where the reception has a coffee machine that makes decent coffee (they took a Latte for 2 euros). But almost always there are no cups, sugar, etc., you have to take it from the bar. Breakfast costs 7 euros, but we did not take it. There is a children's area and a loft lounge area on the ground floor. The hotel was mostly occupied by young guys (students). Quick check-out (there is a special transparent box at the reception, drop the cards from the front door and leave), no queues! The metro (three stations) is also relatively close. Large shops (Rewe), etc., are also nearby - go towards the Berlin Wall. There is a Lidl store on Oranienplatz Square. There are several more local supermarkets along the way. There are Turkish shops and cafes in the vicinity of the hotel. Overall, a good hotel for a good price!
Of the cons:
The toilet has a noisy hood or ventilation, buzzing constantly. There are no closets, only a hanger (for outerwear). For a quadruple room, this is a big minus! There is no phone to contact the reception. The beds for the children were not made (they apparently have such a problem in all hotels of the chain!). I had to go downstairs to get the linen and then make the beds myself (although there were four of us) and I wrote about this when booking. One of the sheets was clearly smaller (as in Columbus) and did not stretch over the mattress ..., the second was torn... I did not change it. One elevator! The hotel is very large, but it takes a long time to wait for the elevator. The room is cleaned superficially, it was not cleaned under the beds (there was dust and dirt). The cleaning lady constantly turned off the batteries (when we were not in the room). Although after switching on, the room warmed up quite quickly. The light on the child's bed did not work, although it is there (the wires were not connected). Do not read a book to children before going to bed.
A very cool Hostel.. Downstairs at the reception there is a large/huge lounge area where you can recharge, drink coffee or just lie on the couch.. There is a luggage storage for a small fee... Rooms with showers, TV in the room (Russian channels are also available).. Linen and towels are provided, also for a small fee... I recommend.. The price of accommodation itself is relatively low...
