The plateau of Assi, it's all at once: the greenery of grass and mosses, rocks and roads. Here, clouds pass by people and horses. Water is in all its states here and now))).
It is beautiful, majestic and cozy in its own way.
For a comfortable trip here, you need a large and tall car, windproof clothes and a sturdy tent. The strong wind blows almost constantly. When it subsides, the sun is scorching.
But it does not tire, the beauty of the local places is indescribable and more than compensates for any weather features.
If you want civilization, then you need to go to the waterfalls, they are nearby. There are guest houses and amenities there.
One of the few places I want to go back to.

The views from here are magical! You can get there normally by car with a clearance of 18 cm. However, I saw a couple of crazy cars that also crawled (for sure drivers don't care about cars, maybe rented ones). You can drive safely, do not get lost Yandex navigator normally brings, and there is actually one road there. It's 5-10 degrees colder upstairs, you need to take your clothes with you. If you leave Almaty at 8 a.m., then you can go normally one day and walk there for another three hours. And on the way back, you can also stop by and climb to the Bear Waterfall.

It's a great place, even though the city vandals got here. There is garbage, untidy places. The road is better by jeep. We were just at the beginning of the plateau, my Prado is not ready for heavy off-road driving. They say if you go 20-30-40 kilometers further along the plateau, it's even steeper there. I'm worried about my emotional, so that my heart doesn't jump out of my chest with delight.
Ps. People - stay human, take away the garbage and do not arrange a toilet under every bush. You yourself will be pleased to return to cleanliness...

The view of the mountains is just great. But this area is definitely not for recreation — the observatory is not a place to visit, the territory is not gentrified, there are no toilets, you can not make bonfires. It's very windy at this altitude and you can easily freeze and catch a cold.
Most people come here in SUVs (you can also drive in an all-wheel drive crossover), hang out at the observatory for half an hour, take selfies and drive down into the gorge, where there is no wind and you can roast kebabs.
