Bwysh. The Greek Orthodox Church of the Virgin Mary (Meryem Kilisesi) in Alachati was built in 1874. Before its construction, there were at least two small churches in Alachati (in the upper and lower quarters, separated by the Smyrna-Cesme road). But due to the increase in migration from the Aegean coast, it was decided to build a church capable of accommodating a larger number of believers, which was done. After 1923, the church was rebuilt into a mosque.
