I flew from Algeria for the first time. A new, large airport, everything is organized clearly, everything is very clean, but there are a lot, as it seemed to me, of all kinds of checks. Starting from the entrance to the airport. Hot in Moscow and St. Petersburg as well.
For a very long time, the border guards passed, two booths worked and we stood in a serpentine line and slowly moved forward.
Therefore, after passing the check-in, immediately move on to still get into the departure zone. In the departure area, all kinds of cafes, duty free, in general, as in all other airports.
I wish you all a good mood and pleasant flights.
A new large airport. A bright terminal, high ceilings, huge windows, several souvenir shops, two small cafes. However, organization and discipline are not enough yet. The boarding terminal was changed several times. The travelator is defective. Announcements and information messages sound very loud, but inarticulate. Frequent flight delays.. There is still a lot to work on.
The modern new airport named after Houari Boumediana (Algeria) we had a short docking, the customs formalities were completed quickly, the customs services were friendly, friendly to Russians as in other things and to everyone else. The airport is big and new, good Internet, there is WiFi. There was one cafe and several shops with national sweets in the transit zone. I am sure that such a modern and large airport will still set the dynamics and human fuss. In the meantime, there is an opportunity to enjoy the pleasant views and modern airport infrastructure in Algiers.
The new building of the capital's airport is designed in a futuristic style. According to rumors, the authors of the architectural project are Spaniards, the building looks quite modern, monumental, decorated with marble and granite inside. Among the disadvantages, I would note the presence of an escort for Russians, when upon arrival in Algeria I have to wait for an escort, ostensibly for my own safety. Sometimes the wait can take a very long time, my personal best is more than 4 hours. The waiting area is not equipped with anything, there are not even chairs, you just wait for unknown things after passport control, the passport is taken away. It's annoying, especially after long flights. But this is not a claim to the airport, but rather to the law enforcement agencies. I hope that the problem will be solved over time. There is no paper in the airport toilets, but there is a hygienic shower, which is not very convenient. In general, the airport is quite decent, and Algeria is a wonderful and amazing country. Bienvenue !
It was extremely uncomfortable to make a transfer.
It was necessary to spend some time at the airport. The system of their establishments is such that only one place accepts cards and only Mastercard and Visa. In other cafes, everything is only for cash, and this is not reported anywhere. Prices are high, even by the standards of Paris.
Toilets also want the best, firstly it smells terrible there, secondly you are afraid that you will be doused with water.
The spacious airport and Wi-Fi only work for 30 minutes, but you can enter different phone numbers and extend the work for 30 minutes each time. The cafe is small, not very cozy.
Huari Boumediene Airport
2 terminals, old and new. You will get to the old one from Turkey (and to Turkey :), flights to Russia are serviced in the new one.
1) a light mess at passport control, be as quick as possible, especially on arrival, otherwise you will end up at the end of the queue. The coronavirus could, out of curiosity, clarify the blood type, now - the profession
2) the old terminal is boring and nauseating, there is nothing to do, there is not enough space (summer 2022)
3) the new terminal is spacious and nice.
A couple of cafes, at least in half of the first cafe you can smoke. Can of beer 800dz
A couple of souvenirs with pig prices. It is three times cheaper in Algeria
A couple of date shops with great prices, almost like on the market. Dates are good
Bookstore with maps
A store with wine and reasonable prices. A bottle of tlemcen is not more than 2000dz. There is a corkscrew!
A cozy clean airport! A couple of shops with a local flavor! Two cafes, with a meager choice of food ( more fruits and oriental sweets ) of the disadvantages, you can smoke at the airport , anywhere 😅
And so let's start with the fact that I flew once. Let's start with the customs rules. It is better not to take binoculars, VHF radios and knives. The amount allowed for export without declaration is $ 5,000 or the equivalent in euros. The airport is big. The plus is that you can buy in Cafes there. I saw only 2 of them in the transit zone. Of the cons. All the shops resemble an Egyptian or some other North African bazaar. A bunch of all sorts of crafts by local craftsmen. The price of food is quite high. There's really nothing to do. But it is better to arrive in advance. There is a queue at the entrance because of the frames and inspections. Check-in starts in 3 hours. Border control is very slow. But I don't think that applies to everyone. And so. One more nuance. Make sure that there is a translator from French if you do not know. The migration card to be filled out before the inspection is in Arabic and French.
The Transit Zone is not a quest for the faint of heart. The only "+" is that you can smoke almost everywhere. The food is also not bad and quite tasty.
I would not like to go back there again...
A half-empty airport,
The transfer works promptly
There is no Duty Free, there are two cafes, you can pay in cash in Euros,
There are souvenir shops and a local wine shop (delicious)
It is very similar to Domodedovo from the early 2000s. There was a transfer for 4 hours - there was nothing to do at all, no duties, no fancy cafes. Of course, there is nowhere to drink. A couple of souvenir shops and shops with local sweets. There are sun beds in the corner opposite the window, you can sleep if you cover yourself from the sun with something
Nice new international airport. We were waiting for a transfer to Moscow. The shops are closed. There are 2 cafes with sandwiches. There are very few people
The positive thing is that the airport is all empty, quiet and small, the staff is very friendly and courteous. Unlimited Internet is available.
On the negative side, there are few shops and only two cafes in the transit area. There are no sockets near the seats.
It is a very weak airport for the capital of the country. There are almost no leisure facilities, uninteresting souvenir shops, the business lounge does not accept premium visa cards.
Maybe the chairs are not very comfortable, but the airport itself is large, well-conditioned. Prices are in local currency, but it can be converted into euros and dollars without problems. There were hitches with the boarding gate board, but it wasn't all that terrible. "The glass is half full."))
Dute free does not work, it is under repair. For wine and souvenirs, you need to go deep into the waiting area behind the cafe. All shops are open until 21:00.
Everything was pretty good, the only negative was the cool weather and the air conditioners were working very hard. During the waiting time for the plane, 7-8 hours, it was cold.
A brand new airport building, an interesting architectural form, a bright and airy building. There are no Dutifrey stores as of October 12, 22. The only cafe in the entire airport. There is alcohol)
There's nothing to talk about yet. A boring, completely empty place. Reconstruction is underway, but, to be honest, I do not have hopes for an update. The guards allow themselves to smoke inside the airport. In general, it did not go in much
The airport is modern and large, there are few flights, so there is no fuss. Duty free is frankly a bit poor and the prices for chocolate, for example, are 2 times higher. So I do not recommend duty free to visit.
There are no shops, 2 cafes in total, empty. There are many security checkpoints. Tk was with a Russian passport, was taken to a separate room and forced to wait for the motorcade, only accompanied to the hotel
There is a very small hall in the arrival area. Sometimes two flights arrive and people stand like a snake like barrels in a herring. There are a lot of Russians and Ukrainians flying. I liked it inside and in the departure area. Everything is somehow unhurried and homely. The airport is modern and is still being completed. You can drink good coffee and even on the second floor on the right side there is a cafe where they sell beer and wine. Not anymore, because the country is still Muslim. There are delays in flights and air conditioning failures. They fix them slowly... The mentality is like that. In general... Nobody's in a hurry here, well... except for the kids. It is hot and stuffy outside the airport in summer.
I was here during Covid's time. The airport was completely empty! But the staff treated us adequately, however, with traditional Algerian meticulousness and sluggishness. The binoculars confiscated on arrival were returned for almost 2 hours on departure. DO NOT TAKE BINOCULARS AND WALKIE-TALKIES TO THIS COUNTRY!😃😃😃
