1. The Language Barrier/ You have entered the university for Russian/Kazakh studies. There is widespread introduction of trilingualism in the country, but the university still has the right to decide whether to introduce trilingualism into the educational process or not, since other universities have refused to do so. If you enrolled for a period without trilingualism, then your opinion about it will not even be thought about, the university does not care at all which language of study you entered and your knowledge of languages. You will be forced to study subjects in English, Kazakh and Russian. The practice of studying in English rather has a positive effect on the quality of education, although training is not easy, but it is important to take into account that all modern and innovative literature on technical specialties appears in the West. The practice of studying subjects in the Kazakh language has a purely negative effect on the understanding of the subject, knowledge of the technical nuances of the profession drops to zero, there is no relevant Kazakh technical literature, your teachers will translate Russian publications from the USSR into Kazakh through a Google translator. Russian Russian education has a positive effect on the understanding of the material, as useful literature in Russian is published in scientific publications of the Russian Federation, in addition there are fundamental Soviet textbooks. Do not forget that teachers will evaluate the knowledge of the language, and not the student's knowledge of his specialty. Trilingualism is a rather controversial thing, a student should have the right to choose which language to study his profession in, but the university deprives you of this right, the division into Russian and Kazakh language of instruction does not make any sense.
2. Teachers/ Every university has good and bad teachers, let's talk about ATU. During your studies, you will encounter / at least 5-6 people who will be fired for collecting money from students and bribery / at least 3-4 people who absolutely do not know their subject and what they teach, they may be confused in terms, wishful thinking, not even possessing basic theoretical knowledge of the subject. The rest of the teachers, almost 85% of the remaining ones, can be divided into two groups - 50% talking heads - this type of teacher will monotonously read the material, will not explain it and will also require you to read, minimum understanding and minimum interest. 35% are the gold of this university, never conflict with them, and even more so do not skip their couples. They are what the university is still based on, they will vividly lecture you, explain and simplify complex things, they will have an individual approach to each student, it is not difficult to see them, they are immediately visible in the form of beautiful flowers, against a background of gray tarnished grass.
3. Student life, filled not only with studies, but also with interesting events and clubs- forget about it and do not remember anymore, if you are in the main building, then maybe 10-15% of the student life in the same UIB will fall to you.
4. Dining room- do you want a snack? In the dining room, you can eat more on a budget and at the same time the quality of food is acceptable for such a price, depending on the time of your arrival - this may change. But if you take food with you, then forget about the meal rooms (I don't know about the main building), forget that when you come to the dining room you can eat at the table like normal people. You will be strongly advised not to do this, since the dining room is private and it has its own rules. (although it is located inside the state university) If you don't want to buy in the dining room, then you'd better leave, you can't bring your own food. As a result, you eat on a bench in the corridor, crouching from an uncomfortable position, or even outside, especially in winter, it's very pleasant, on a cold bench, with frozen hands.
5. Peak hours/ they happen not only on the road on the way to ATA. Rush hours occur in the ATU dining room when there are simply no empty seats in it, they occur on the steps of the ATU, when because of the huge crowd you have to go down one step like a robot, they can be in elevators that are constantly crowded, and when they are crowded, it means that soon someone will get stuck in the elevator and will be waiting for rescue, this happens, once a month for sure. As for the elevators / they have been waiting for their repair for a long time and it is not a fact that they will wait for you to ride them in the near future, then shaking and sudden braking are your companions.
6. Responsiveness of management and feedback from students / does your teacher take bribes? You should not pretend to be a hero and complain about him, even a collective complaint from the whole group will not help you, and if it does, then you will be very lucky. Did your teacher charge you for the event and abruptly quit? Forget about it, it's your own fault that you trusted him./ your teacher treats some students biased due to ignorance of the Kazakh language or for personal reasons, you will be listened to and will side with the teacher. If you are a student, it means that you are the most extreme. As they say, is the client's opinion the law? Not really, you are a customer and you receive a service from ATU, you pay money and this means that you have some value-NO. The management considers you solely as a payment unit and even so, will not give you any guarantees, much less take into account your opinion. Would you like to complete the questionnaire on the website? No? You can't do this, be sure to go through if you don't want any problems. Did you rate the quality of education negatively? So, come on, admit who did it, the whole group is silent, so the whole group will feel bad, they've finished playing.
7. There is a lot of theory, theory, theory. Your whole life is a theory, a theory. Theory. Do you want to practice? well.. in the first year, instead of practicing, you will call former students of ATU, find out if they got a job in their specialty? Take what they give you. And after that, you are already waiting to come to production and practice, but that was not the case. ATU has not signed a contract for your specialty with the company.. Oops... so there won't be any practice? No! Well, except in the ATA itself, the latest equipment and an innovative approach, so stop, and where does the state money go?
8. Congratulations, you have finally finished the ATU. They promised to get you a job in your specialty, didn't they promise? Nope. Atu cannot promise or guarantee anything. You are lucky if you do not work in your specialty, and if you have found a job in your specialty, your colleagues will find it funny to look at your knowledge. Information from the middle of the last century, outdated and irrelevant, is sitting in your heads. Inapplicable in practice, 80% of your knowledge is garbage, but you still know something, as in the dialogue between Bykov and Lobanov "B: This is a lie. You don't know shit. L: What the hell is that? B: Last name? L: Semyon!.. Lobanov " so it will be with you, my dear friends.
In summary, if you have not been warned yet, what is written here, I strongly recommend that you be treated. If warned, you are an intelligent person and know how to learn from the mistakes of others. Do not enroll in ATU, do not do this, you will lose time - the most precious resource in your life. Sincerely yours, lvuhuny
P.S. I understand that this review may be deleted or several positive ones may be written in order to discredit this review, this may happen, please note that it may even be done on purpose. Do not be under any illusions, the ATA is still moving very slowly towards changes, perhaps in 15-20 years the situation may change, but then it is easier not to choose a pig in a poke.
