The magnificent cathedral, an important spiritual and architectural landmark of Madrid! The Catedral de Santa María La Real de La Almudena was built exactly a century ago, the construction of the cathedral was completed in 1993. The cathedral is located in the historical center of Madrid and its main facade faces the Royal Palace.

Almudena Cathedral is big and beautiful from the outside, but inside it is so ascetic that I have not even seen it all over northern Europe. There's nothing to see there at all, it's very modest. It's not a bad thing, it's just a feature of Spanish religious architecture. In contrast, in Italy, on the contrary, the most inconspicuous church in the gateway will be richly decorated with marble, paintings and frescoes inside. But Almudena has very beautiful bronze doors, they are worth considering carefully.
