A huge exposition, a lot of works familiar from childhood from reproductions. God grant that our differences with Europe will subside, I really want to return to Bavaria, for me this is the most comfortable place in Germany. Munich is very beautiful and rich in historical monuments.
A magnificent collection of European art. We were with my husband, who is not particularly interested in painting, however, he was helped by books that could be read in many halls.
I highly recommend visiting this museum. It's big, but not huge, the paintings are amazing, all the most famous masters, impressionists are downstairs in the hall.
A wonderful history of the creation of this museum and an impressive collection especially of Rubens!

one of those places that you should definitely visit if you love art! the emotions that I received cannot be expressed in words... I advise and highly recommend it!
A very large building, beautiful large and small halls, for some reason few (but that's good!) visitors, silence. You can walk calmly, slowly, look at paintings, think, imagine, enjoy... And there is something to enjoy - these are the works of Leonardo da Vinci, Tintoretto, Raphael, Brueghel, Durrer, Titian... And the Rembrandt Hall? It's
wonderful that you feel almost complete freedom of action in the pinakothek. You can take pictures of anything and as much as you want, take notes, draw, relax (sitting or reclining) ...
Very responsive staff. Thanks!
On the day of departure from Munich, there was little time and money. But I couldn't help it.To say that I wanted to go there is nothing to say. Entrance tickets were almost for free. Cheaper than the Pushkin Museum in Moscow. But there was a renovation. Part of the second floor was closed. And the other part is open. I tried the door on the second floor. It was huge. I couldn't open it. I went downstairs and found a caretaker from Ukraine there. She told me:"There's nothing on the second floor, just the Dutch and Durer. I was speechless. I went back to the second floor to pull the door again. It didn't open and there was no one there. I almost left, but the door opened on its own. They got out of it. And I went in.
What to say... If 10% of what is there were brought to Moscow, then people would stand on the street for 4 hours. And there were few people there. A portrait of Durer with long hair, a young man whom I saw as a child in an art album hung in front of me. Another portrait of him. Dutch masters.... My eyes were running away. All I was afraid of was that the plane would leave without me. Time was running out. But I turned left into the hall and froze right there. The famous portrait of Antonis van Dyck. Where it stands in half a turn.... I had to leave anyway. There is no money left for the second flight from Munich. Friendly Germans showed me the way on a map, which I pointed at with my finger. But there is also a New Pinakothek and other museums. I have to fly to Munich for a week. Then you can take a slow look at everything. There is no such thing in Berlin. It's much more modest in the museum there.
The first place to go is in Munich....after visiting the pub) A chic gallery. Durer and Rubens are here, as well as the Germans Holbein, Cranach and many others. Of course, you need to stock up on time - 3 hours is the minimum. But there is also a new pinakothek, etc. on the list....
A place that will take time, leisurely contemplation of paintings and reflections, a good time to visit on Wednesday evening before closing (the museum is open until 21.00), few visitors, no fuss. I used the review from the Internet, but there is an audio guide.
Once in Munich, you should definitely visit this place: Bosch, Brueghel, Rubens, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, the early Italians... If you expect a visit in one day, then you should lay at least 4 hours - the exposition is impressive.
