We lived in a room with access to the ocean - the location is simply gorgeous in this sense, but rats are running around the territory, especially in the evening when you rest in front of the room, from 21 to 23 hours they ran 10 times, we already stopped twitching. The rooms have never been cleaned in 5 days, and the breakfasts are absolutely normal....In general, I can't say that it's cool here... we had a rest in the middle of March.
Here's another thing- you ask for a glass or a knife at the reception, they send you to a restaurant, and then you're lucky...

The hotel has a lot of rooms. Most of the tourists came on a package tour.
Breakfast doesn't matter how or when you order from the menu. But in Zanzibar, you need to look for a decent place for catering.
In contrast to other smaller hotels, I liked what there is here: a beauty salon with massage and braiding and ice cream. It's very close to the sea, I went down the stairs, and you're already in the water :) At low tide, you can lie in the shade under the stilts of the hotel restaurant.
The location is in the center of tourist life.
We stayed at this hotel in March 2021. In general, everything is good: a large territory, lots of plants, a beautiful view from the hotel restaurant to the ocean, a clean pool, small houses, but quite cozy. The food at the hotel is mostly normal (we only had breakfast), if you do not take into account the days when they served stewed navels with cabbage, It is impossible to chew the dish, because both navels and cabbage are just iron. But there is something to remember with a laugh 🤪 I would recommend this hotel, because it is quite good in terms of price-quality ratio.
It is a very good hotel for 3 people. The room is cleaned well, towels and bed linen are changed every day, the only thing that bothered me was that they always pass at different times and clean the room very slowly. The staff monitors not only the territory of the hotel, but also the beach is always clean and tidy. Security guards control the beach area, drive away overly annoying locals and keep order, help you choose fresh and delicious fruits, and bargain for you with the seller, and free of charge. The breakfasts are average, but they never went hungry. A great hotel for relatively little money
Located in the most convenient location of Nungwi beach, on the ocean. The rooms are cleaned daily and of high quality. The staff is friendly and eager to make your stay unforgettable! A large swimming pool. The territory of the hotel is not large, there is a garden and generally quite green. The price is fully consistent with the quality.
An excellent hotel in terms of price-quality ratio, the best location on the island - the tides, of course, are there, but small, up to 30 meters. There is an infrastructure - shops, post office, markets, exchangers, taxis and buses, as well as many restaurants. We have been to this hotel twice. The hotel itself is for 3 - everything is old, but you can take the neighboring ones or completely killed / or with a price for a million rubles (this is not a joke, look at Riu)
I had a vacation here in November 2020. Of the advantages:
1. The rooms are large, clean, cleaned daily. The view from the window was not very good, but we actually visited the room only at night. There are rooms with sea views. It happens that the staff forgot to put water in the rooms, put a towel on. But this is their lifestyle - Hakuna matata!
2. The location of the hotel. the village center is not far away., everything is within walking distance of shops and an exchange office. You can exchange the currency at the reception desk, but it will be a little more expensive.
3. The beach. Tides can always go into the sea, at low tide the sea does not go far away, nor as in the north. Hedgehogs live quite far from the coastline.
From the negative:
the restaurant. Breakfasts are crap. in the end, they went to other restaurants for breakfast. at lunch or dinner, you can wait for the dish for an hour and a half. Again, Hakuna matata! therefore, they chose to vote with their feet, went to restaurants where waiters were moving, or to an Italian restaurant, or Turkish, or something else.
A good budget hotel. Small. There is a swimming pool. The beach is no more than 5 minutes away. The breakfasts aren't great, but you won't stay hungry. Cleaning for 3. The staff responds to any requests. The furniture in the rooms is old, there are no bedside tables. There is air conditioning and a hairdryer.
Take rooms with pool and sea views only. You'll regret it then. The place is convenient, gorgeous beaches, excellent restaurants are all nearby. It is better not to have breakfast at the hotel
This hotel is located right on the ocean. Matches its description. The rooms are standard, a bed, a small refrigerator, a wardrobe, a table. There is air conditioning and ceiling fan, shower. It's a pretty good room by African standards. Breakfast is included. There are no frills, coffee tea amlets, some fruits, some meat and rolls. You won't stay hungry. The main thing is the ocean, which is right next to it, and in order to sleep and change clothes. They clean it every day. I would say the price is consistent with the quality.
Good 3ka, the rooms are tired, the dishes are monotonous and without assortment: eggs, fruits, rolls, non-edible sausages.. a bar with a gorgeous view and delicious cocktails, you can relax, as they say.. there are plenty of cafes to the right along the beach where you can eat tasty and inexpensive food
This is Africa, and it must be understood. The location is gorgeous, the ocean splashes a meter away from the hotel. The accommodation is normal, almost everything is in the room and almost everything works ... They took it with breakfast, it is better not to take it, it is not subject to description.. . Overall, I liked the trip and the hotel, a lot of impressions, I recommend it. This is Africa!!!
A great hotel, excellent staff, cleanliness, comfortable rooms, the best of the price + quality series, literally 7 minutes walk from the ocean and located in a quiet corner where birds of paradise sing in the morning!!!
We rested here a couple of years ago. It's great for your stars! Daily cleaning of the bungalow, change of towels, normal breakfasts and a nice beach nearby! The only thing at that time, I would have changed the mattresses on the sun beds!
We visited this hotel in the winter of 2021. The check-in was problematic, it did not work out quickly, the staff speaks English, they gave us a good room right away by the pool "we were lucky" it was impossible to book a week in advance, we had to move from room to room. Of course, the food is not very monotonous, but it is normal for three people, in Tanzania they cook poorly everywhere, they do not know how. The tides in this part were very small. We rode all over the island in some parts up to 2 km.
When we were looking for a hotel, we were guided by the proximity of the beach. This hotel turned out to be more than close to the beach, we did not expect. It's practically in the ocean, it's just a bomb. This is the best beach on the island. I'm sure it was the best vacation and a lot of unforgettable experiences.
We stayed at the hotel from March 13-23 (I am writing directly from the hotel). The horror is terrible. During the 7 days of stay, the water disappeared 3 times... They never cleaned or changed their underwear... Maybe it depends on the staff attached to the numbers, and I was unlucky. Employees smile, talk after an hour, for an hour and do nothing. The breakfasts couldn't be worse... The room is very old, they are afraid to touch everything (suddenly it will fall apart). The Internet is practically
This is one of those rare cases when, after returning from the hotel, it is impossible to formulate the overall impression of the stay. There are too many factors, both positive and negative.
Of the positive aspects, the following can be noted:
1) the hotel is very clean and tidy, it is pleasant to walk around the territory, it is pleasant to relax by the pool and swim in it. To be honest, when we arrived there and saw the area around the hotel, we did not expect that it would be so pleasant to be in the hotel! A very pleasant impression ...
2) Wi-Fi, although weak, but it works stably, it is enough for messengers, search engines and mail
3) the staff at the reception and in general at the hotel are very diligent and helpful, it is clear that they really want to make the most of the guests. For example, when they saw us cutting fruit by the pool, they brought us plates and napkins themselves! We didn't expect this at all)
4) Hotel guests can use the entire infrastructure of the Amaan Beach Bungalows hotel, which is located on the first line and is part of the same group of hotels. There are very comfortable sun beds by the pool, a shower, a cafe overlooking the beach, you can exchange beach towels
5) slightly outdated, but quite normal rooms with a clean bathroom and a comfortable bed! It was comfortable to sleep, especially considering that it is forbidden to make noise in the hotel after 22 o'clock, so the nights were very quiet. By the way, in hotels on the first line, this was not always the case according to our observations ...
From the negative:
1) Breakfast! It's just a quiet horror! Yes, this is Africa, yes, it is difficult to find delicious food in Zanzibar, but for breakfast to be so disgusting is amazing!!! So that there is no idea what I compare with breakfasts in hotels of a much higher class, I will say this: we spent one night in Arusha (before safari, after evening arrival) in a very cheap guest house, which cost 2 times cheaper than Amaan Nungwi, and there the breakfast was just MUCH better, tastier, more diverse and satisfying!!!
2) despite the fact that some of the rooms on the second floor were free all week that we lived there, upon check-in they said (without even checking availability) that it was absolutely impossible to change the room to the second floor!
3) for some unknown reason, in the middle of our stay, they suddenly stopped bringing water (according to the rules of the hotel, 2 bottles of water a day are supposed to have something to brush your teeth with), then they stopped changing towels, and on the last day they didn't even clean the room!!! In the evening, our questions were answered at the reception with round eyes and assured that this simply could not be, they say, you have confused something!!! There was no such "service" even in the most modest and cheap guesthouses in which we stayed!!! It is clear that we deliberately chose an inexpensive hotel so that it would not be so insulting to spend several paid nights on safari on the mainland, but still it is no good ...
To summarize: the hotel is not bad, but there are significant shortcomings that it would be very cool to fix so that you would like to return to the hotel!
Quite a decent hotel by Zanzibar standards. Everything you need to eat. The main thing is there is a refrigerator and air conditioning, at least in the rooms overlooking the pool. The only thing is that it's a little dark in the room, even if you turn on all the lights that are there.
Super! Nice staff, clean rooms and a nice pool.
The location is good, there are many restaurants nearby.

Nice hotel, rooms are clean, towels are changed every day. Of the minuses, these are breakfasts, it would be possible to take them without breakfast, they would refuse, there is nothing to eat at all, the dishes are old and dirty. Those who read the reviews brought their own cheese and sausage. The hotel is 5 minutes from the beach.
