Well, what can I say. The area is nice, ideal for exploring Washington and the surrounding area. There are apartment buildings around like modern Moscow neighborhoods. You can only rent there, not for purchase. On the way from the subway to the hotel, dinner is easy to pick up at Whole Foods. There are two metro stations to choose from. Shopping centre. A cozy area for work and living.
In the hotel itself, the room is decorated in classic style. I mean, it's a little old, but it's no less comfortable. Moreover, you spend the whole day in museums and other places, and only sleep there. There is no breakfast. From the word at all. Just bagels and coffee. I was amazed that some morning there was just no hot water for tea, and when asked where to get it, the staff just ran away like they didn't understand English or the English that I studied for seven years in the UK in the late 1990s and have been using daily at work all my life. At the same time, they continued to carry coffee in thermoses! How is it to have coffee, but no water for tea? And if you're not a coffee drinker?
But the most egregious thing is that it was at this hotel of all in the USA that my wallet was stolen. In which there were only Three and a transport map of Yakutsk. Good luck, of course, to whoever did it, to apply them there. And most importantly, why? The wallet itself was dear to me, just worn but comfortable.
I give the hotel a rating of three out of five precisely because of the location. The reception staff is rude or just Russophobic. After scanning my passport, they wanted to keep it for themselves, like they forgot it in the scanner, they returned it only after a reminder.
Save your nerves, pay a little more, but rent a room in one of the chain hotels nearby in the same area, as the area is very nice, calm. Of course, there is also the main office of the TSA - the Transportation Security Administration.and in general, all this is about a Pentagon vibe in the air.
Washington is a great city, accessible without a car. Have a good time there. Especially if the cherry blossoms are in bloom.
