Awesome place) I would love to visit the ancient city again), excavations are underway, they are being restored, there are few people, the architecture is gorgeous. Definitely a must-visit for all lovers of the ancient world.
Restoration work is underway, but visitors are allowed to enter (free of charge, October 2024).
The buildings are well preserved, there is something to see. The sea views are gorgeous. Since Siedra is located on a mountain.
We drove by car, the asphalt road is narrow and in places serpentine. There is a small parking lot and a toilet.
If you love antiquities, it's worth a visit.
I am delighted with the visit! We arrived by car, it's not crowded because there are no tourist buses! Beautiful viewing platforms, mosaics, it's a pleasure to walk! Be sure to visit being on the Alanian coast!
The ancient ruins of the old city, there are not many people, unlike Side, it is very sincere and interesting to climb them. There are few places where you can touch antiquities like this , literally .
It is definitely worth visiting at least for the sake of the views from above, there are practically no people, it is quiet, beautiful, calm and very hot during the day in the season. From the center of Alanya, a taxi with a waiting round trip cost $ 50, I would definitely not recommend walking, only if in winter
An ancient city!!! Beauty, atmosphere, history... I recommend it to everyone who will be around. So far, admission is free! It's a very atmospheric place. I recommend.
It's a great place. Excavations are still underway. Admission is free. It won't be very easy on foot, we were on a scooter
The views are wonderful, the aura of the place came to me, as if in the scenery from the past and without museum splendor and there are no tourists, like in Ephesus. We were at dawn from 6 to 8 in July and the heat didn't bother us yet, but the awesome views should be at sunset. There is a place for shade, a zen fishing picnic is great here)
The ancient city of the 1st century BC. where excursions are not taken. Excavations are underway on the territory. There are many well-preserved fragments of buildings, a stone staircase from the gate to the top has been preserved, there are remains of mosaics. Great views, beautiful nature. Large lizards and turtles can be found among the ruins. Someone wrote that there are snakes, but they haven't seen one in 3 hours. A very colorful, beautiful and unforgettable place. You can see everything and climb everywhere. There are many buildings in the forest that cannot be approached. The city stands on a mountain at an altitude of 400 meters from the sea. You can take a taxi to the very entrance along a steep narrow serpentine. We went down to our Utopia World hotel from the other side of the mountain, also along a serpentine path through the forest and banana plantations. The road is very beautiful, but walking up there is stressful. The descent took 40 minutes.
I advise you to take a look. Come in the evening, around 5 o'clock. It's not crowded, it's not hot. We quietly wandered through the ruins of the ancient city. Is free. For those who like to travel to ancient cities, I recommend
It's just great. If you are a lover of deep history, go here. The Turks are doing well, they are rebuilding by leaps and bounds. There are new excavations every month.
A gorgeous place steeped in history! A picturesque road leads to the city, which takes your breath away! The city itself is still being excavated, but there are already several streets.
Close to Mahmutlar, easy to reach by car. Beautiful views of Alanya, there are practically no tourists, since the organization of tours here is not on stream. They look like ordinary, unremarkable ruins, of which there are hundreds even in Turkey itself. The most unusual artifact can be called the "street of columns": the quality of processing of massive stone blocks is impressive, if we take into account the time when it was created. An ideal place for independent travel by car.
A quiet, sparsely populated place
Our family really liked it 😍
Excavations are still underway
, and mosaics have been preserved in places

Whether you are a researcher at heart, or completely indifferent to history, or even the opposite, it seems to me that the city of Siedra will attract the attention of any tourist. The ruins of the ancient city are located on a hill above the sea coast, near the village of Seki, approximately in the middle between the cities of Alanya and Gazipasa. The city boasts an impressive heritage that dates back thousands of years. The first mention in written sources dates back to the middle of the first century BC. The zenith of Siedra's fame occurred in the 2nd and 3rd centuries, when the city flourished with a population of more than 4,000 inhabitants. Archaeological excavations were started here in 1994 and are still ongoing. The main street in the upper part of the city, various buildings, including a temple, a theater, shopping malls, baths, city walls and cisterns were discovered. Research conducted by archaeologists in 2011 revealed relics dating back to the Bronze Age, almost 5,000 years ago, which provides a rare glimpse into the ancient maritime history of Siedra. Of course, no photos will convey the grandeur, splendor and power of urban development. We never arrive in the morning, there are a lot of tourists, noise, fuss. Evening, sunset is what you need! I photographed a lot with the desire to convey my feelings at least a little.
Thank you that the city is open and no one is being chased like in Anamurium. Nobody interferes with the excavations, there are few people in winter. We really liked Sierra.
A beautiful ancient city located on the hills in the Antalya area, there are excursions or you can drive yourself by bus or cars. Entrance to the territory is free, parking is also free, the fortresses are located on the hills and there are stairs to all of them. There are banana plantations around.
We took 1 bus to the terminal, then went up the road through cottages uphill, through banana plantations and olive groves.
The city can be explored slowly, it is located on several levels, there are practically no people.
Beautiful views.
There is a spring, it cools, but they did not drink from there.
Cool. Only we couldn't get to the city itself. We walked from the Utopia Hotel. But, apparently, not that way. We came from the rear view, but we couldn't see anything.
The Old Town is a historic city! In the active phase of excavations. In size, of course, it's a baby. Located in which part of the mountain. There are a lot of photos. But it's better to make your own on the spot. Have a nice time. There are almost no people. And the entrance is free!! I recommend...
I recommend everyone to visit this place. Archaeologists are still working here, but most of them have already been excavated and are in authentic condition.
The stairs have already been partially completed. Be sure to climb to the top, the view is simply unreal for the entire neighborhood.

Excavations seem to be still underway, there is already a booth at the entrance, but the entrance is still free. There are some excursions, but we didn't find them right away. The ruins are quite interesting, if you like ruins, there are practically no people. You can get from Antalya by bus, but it will take quite a long time to climb the mountain (3 kilometers along the serpentine, it seems). We took a taxi directly to Antalya and drove there. At Siedra's, the driver kindly offered to wait for us. We walked through the ruins of the city for about an hour. The entire trip cost about 1,600 lire on the meter. The only problem is that summer is not the best time to visit Siedra - it is very hot.

It's worth it!!! The ruins are beautiful!!! The surviving pantheon is breathtaking.
In my opinion, only the ruins of Effes are better than this place in Turkey.
The city is set in a perfect landscape.
New excavations have started again and the city is getting more daylight.
It's also great that it's free.
(December 2024)
It's interesting to take a walk. Not for a long walk. You need to climb high up the mountain. If you go up by car while driving, be careful. The road is dangerous.
The coolest Christian city ever. But he wasn't looked after and he's the way he is now. It's a shame, of course!

It's just awesome! You understand that the ancient builders did not even build for centuries, for millennia! And everything is smooth! Without laser levels and levels! It is very beautiful and interesting!
I really liked it! You can climb almost anywhere. The main thing is not to step on a turtle) Everywhere there is a sea of ceramic remains from tiles, vessels, etc., you can do archaeology with a child😁 All architectural components of ancient times are freely available: columns, capitals, bases, bases, cornices, etc., sometimes even with inscriptions. I highly recommend it!
It's a beautiful place. It's hard to climb to the top in the heat, so it's better to do it at a time when it's a little cooler. The views are magnificent.
No snakes were seen, only turtles)
My friends and I were walking from Utopia World past cottages under construction, there were a lot of dogs that scared us at first. We appeased them with sausages and as a result, we walked around the ancient city for 5 hours under the protection of 3 friendly dogs. The views are great, especially at sunset
I walked from Utopia. About an hour, but we'll go cool, left at 6 a.m., through the village of Seki, there are signs there. The views of course are mind-blowing.
It will be difficult to get there on foot and by bike. We took the 2B from Mahmutlar to the final one and walked, it took about 2.5 hours. We saw snakes on the way, it's better to be on the lookout. There are a lot of turtles in Siedra itself and along the way.
If by car, then there is a very convenient check-in to the beginning of the route.
There is an equipped toilet at the entrance. It's not clean, but it's still very good.
There is no food, no water, you need to take it with you.
There is nothing to do with small children and a stroller here. There are very dangerous ascents and descents.
I recommend it to everyone else, it's very interesting to touch the story. And there is a stunning view of the city and the sea. It took 1.5-2 hours to walk around the Siedra itself.
We arrived from Alanya by bus 1.
They got out and walked to the top.
The length is 5km, the height to the crown of the Cedar is 400m.
Be sure to bring Water with you.
The excavations are fresh, there are no excursions there yet.
You can take a taxi, I don't know the price!
Nice place!
There are no crowds of tourists yet!
Free entry.
