Now that is almost perfection. The halls organisation (emperors, gods), the long gallery, the tomb section - amazing. The audioguide's quite helpful, too. The only flaw I noticed - AC. It was rather hot inside.
Definitely worth a visit!
A gorgeous, stunning, unforgettable museum! A beautiful, well-maintained collection in excellent condition! I don't remember any analogues in Europe - so if you want to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of antiquity, you need to go to Turkey! Even with the children, we managed to see almost all the exhibits, and we also liked the garden with peacocks! I highly recommend you to visit! A ticket for an adult in October 2024 cost 15 euros, children are free, but they only accept lira at the checkout!!! The only thing I would like to add is descriptions in English everywhere and you can unify the descriptions by adding information about artifacts. But even without this, it is very informative and atmospheric! Special thanks for convenient parking right on site and working seven days a week! Opening hours are indicated at 8.30-19.30
A magnificent museum! A small part of the exhibits is on the street, in the courtyard of the museum. The territory is beautiful! Inside the museum, we looked at all the halls in sufficient detail. It took us 2.5 hours. We took an audio guide. The exhibits were described quite interestingly, with a brief summary of the history of a particular one. We went as a family with a child of 11 years old. My daughter was not very interested, and in order to captivate her, we came up with a rating of the most beautiful and most terrible statues, the youngest and the oldest. She began to have fun and began to walk around the museum with a little more interest.
And as for my husband and me, we really liked it! It's a pleasure to look at the originals and listen to the story, I tell you!
A chic, new, modern museum of archaeology. Lovers of antiquity will be very interested, you can learn a lot about the region and places that you can visit without going far. There is an audio guide. In summer, the halls are pleasantly cool. Special attention should be paid to the souvenir shop on the territory, at the exit. The prices there are above average, but there are souvenirs-books that are not easy to find in the store
Hello, everyone.
We visited the Archaeological museum in August 2024.
The ticket price is 15 €.
We paid in lira, about 550 l/ticket.
The museum is quite large, there are many halls.
Different periods of human development.... From the Neolithic and....
Unique finds found on the territory of Turkey during archaeological excavations.
Household items, amphorae, vessels, ornaments, statues, fragments of decors, mosaic floors, sarcophagi....
I recommend seeing all this with your own eyes in order to understand the scale of the works of art created by ancient masters.
Look into the eyes of certain statues.... The feelings of people in cold marble are conveyed....
They come to life.
Each room has comfortable sofas where you can sit down and admire the works of art for hours.
The air condenses, the objects are perfectly and competently illuminated.
The incident light creates an atmosphere.
You have been surrounded by such beauty for several hours.
Bottom line: I recommend 100%
There are a lot of sculptures of Greek gods, the whole family really liked it. Everything is as high-quality and beautiful as possible, the sculptures are not covered in any way and nothing, if you want, you can even touch them. Peacocks walk freely in the courtyard. You can chase them too.
A very cool museum, especially the halls with statues and sarcophagi, which are more than 2 thousand years old. There is a hall of Christianity, which contains the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. It's a little expensive, the ticket is 15 euros.
A very interesting place, an audio guide in Russian, you can take a leisurely walk around the museum and get acquainted with the artifacts, and there are a lot of them. The staff is attentive and polite. There is a souvenir shop at the exit, which is very convenient. I liked everything , I recommend everyone to go 👍
The museum is definitely worthy of your attention. Thousands of exhibits from the Stone Age to medals and icons of the XIX century. There are a lot of various ceramics, antique statues and coins from different eras. There is an audio guide - they give out a phone with headphones.
The museum is located in the historical center of the old city of Antalya. It includes two old buildings. Interesting compositions from the life of the Turkish people. Traditions, national costumes, furniture, dishes, coins. The ticket is inexpensive - 30 rubles.
An incredibly interesting museum. There are few places where you will find such beauty. This is especially true of sarcophagi and statues. A must-visit before traveling to Perga or any other ancient city in Turkey. To understand how great it was when it was in its place!
Convenient Parking, beautiful building, courteous staff, there is an audio guide in Russian... But the ticket in October 2024 (without the audio guide) turned out to be 575 Turkish lira (equivalent to 15 euros, according to their exchange rate, since prices are in euros, and they only charge in lira), although in August 2023, people wrote, it was 200 lira!
A good museum, there is the necessary background information in English and Turkish, an audio guide is also in Russian
The only thing is that the entrance costs 15 € for non-Turkish citizens. And it's worth paying attention to, because almost all prices are in lira, except for the cost of one basic ticket
There is practically no museum cafe, but the shop is good: the literature is decent, and there is beautiful, even somewhat authentic costume jewelry (worth 250-300 lire), and various statuettes, also from 300 lire
The museum was visited in the spring of 2024. We were very satisfied. The exposition of the archaeological museum covers the period from the Upper Paleolithic (40-10 millennia) to the Roman Empire. The museum is located in the center, not far from Kaleichi, the old town. You can download the muzekart app and you will have your own free guide in Russian. The hall of statues and sarcophagi was especially impressive. I advise everyone to visit.
A decent museum.
I am grateful for its creation and the safety of the exhibits.
There is an audio guide, it's a pity that there is no Wi-Fi, but it doesn't work without the Internet.
Greek culture is amazing.
A very interesting museum: from antique sculptures, sarcophagi to icons, coins, jewelry, household items. It will take more than one hour to visit all the halls of the museum!
An undoubted advantage is that you can enter the courtyard of the Archaeological Museum of Antalya for free. There you will find several tables in the shade, stone fragments are displayed along a couple of alleys, a pair of peacocks are released from the aviary, a toilet is available. Admission to the museum itself is expensive for non-residents - 15 euros! (however, you need to pay with a card or in lira) At the same time, the museum is small, with about 12-15 halls. However, a lover of antiquity will enjoy it: there are collections of ceramics from the Bronze Age to Byzantium, interesting marble statues and sarcophagi. In almost all male statues, the cruel time did not spare the noses and phalluses in the first place, although there are also a couple of priapic exhibits.
Not cheap entrance tickets are 15 euros + an audio guide is another 15 euros.
They charge only in lira.
The statues are mostly from Perge, those that were dug up late and did not have time to steal and take to European and American museums and private collections. It is good that the history of those peoples who lived on these fertile lands has been preserved. Thanks to the Turks for starting excavations of old ruined cities and not hesitating to exhibit them in museums.
A very interesting museum. If you scan the code on the tickets, then download the application-there is a Russian audio guide. You can use their museum service, but this increases the cost of tickets) by default, the audio guide is included in the price, we were refunded the difference when their audio guide was already refused when passing through the turnstiles)
I just had an incredible pleasure!!! I have simply never seen such a large number of ancient sculptural products anywhere. Definitely need to visit. I'm thrilled!!!
I really wanted to touch the beautiful, so I didn't regret paying 3,000 for two!! The entrance is very expensive - 15 euros or 1,500 rubles per adult at the time of mid-November 2023. But this is a common fact for museums in Turkey. In general, the exposition is decent, but less than in Istanbul, if you have a choice, it's better to go to Istanbul and limit yourself to this))
An absolutely amazing museum!! With a rich collection and atmospheric presentation of exhibits. In my opinion, it is not inferior to the Istanbul Archaeological Museum, considering, of course, that it is never possible to see it completely, a third or even half of its halls are constantly closed.. But not here, everything is open for viewing and a wonderful courtyard with peacocks!
It's not a bad museum, but everything is monotonous. Mostly statues. We lived in the hotel opposite and went there for a change. According to the description in the reviews, the picture was drawn more interesting.
A great and interesting place. The entrance ticket is expensive, but it's worth it. At the exit, I was greeted by peacocks walking by themselves, a nice bonus
I really liked the museum. To see with my own eyes what I saw only in textbooks is worth a lot. Interesting exhibits. Of the disadvantages, only the cost for foreigners.
I did not expect such finds here, my first archaeological museum is not in Russia and Ukraine, the impressions are excellent, the family was also happy, I did not take the tour, in principle everything is clear

Not too large in area, but very rich in content. There are a lot of artifacts from different eras. There is a whole large hall of sculptures, and almost all of them date back to the 2nd century AD. I wonder how sculptures of such amazing beauty and in such quantity were made back then.
1) There is no guide in any language!
This is the first time I have come across such a "museum"
2) There are also no headphones with translation. Not in any language. It's a mess. Where is the director of the museum? Where is the Turkish Ministry of Tourism looking??? 🇹🇷
The collection is quite modest in terms of the number of exhibits, but at the same time impressive and worthy of inspection

I read a lot of reviews and decided to go.
We went. October 2024.
It says at the entrance that the ticket is 15€, but only Turkish lira is accepted for payment! I will say in advance that such a system exists in all museums, especially tourist ones.
At the checkout, they immediately ask you, and what country are you from? The catch is that if you are not from an English-speaking country, you are immediately given an audio guide of 350 lire per person. It doesn't matter that you speak pure English with the cashier. We were shocked by the price and didn't think to immediately ask what the cost was, and then it was too late. By the way, not everyone does this, but a specific dirty man. Then we realized the trick: when you hand over the audio guide back, you are given cheap wireless headphones as a gift. In short, they earn a little extra money on tourists.
In total, tickets for two people came out to us at 1810 Lire, without an audio guide of 1110 Lire.
Turkish residents or people with a residence permit can buy a museum card cheaper, but tourists are sorry.
Honestly? I think it's expensive. Just because the museum is small enough. Or maybe I'm just spoiled by my native Hermitage. At first I was shocked by the price. However, then we independently visited Demre, the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Kekova Island. There you will be asked for even more money for a smaller amount of exposure. After that, the indignation from the museum subsided.
About the museum. Few people will be interested in the hall of Neolithic archaeology. The statue and the sarcophagus are much more interesting, all the people are there. You can approach all the statues closely, walk around from all sides, even touch them with your hands, many stand without an alarm. The observers sit only in one small room and rather for show. The audio guide has about 50 tracks for 2 to 6 minutes. One track is designed for several exhibits at once. There are interesting points in the recordings, but we also learned from them that almost all the statues in the museum are just copies of earlier Greek statues that are kept in museums in Europe. You can take one audio guide per company, but no more.
There is a courtyard with peacocks, chickens and cats, entrance is free.
You can go here once, but not come back.
A good museum, you need to go, a lot of originals
The current entry price is always on their website, as of mid-October 2023 it is 340 liras
It works until 19:00, tickets are sold until 18:30, but go early, at 18:40 they are already starting to kick out and turn everything off.
You can get there by public transport, everything is in Yandex maps)
The audio guide will help you install using the app on your phone, if there is Internet. If it doesn't work out, then they offered a museum audio guide for free, they left a document as a pledge
The audio guide worked poorly. Disconnected from the Internet and did not load. For such a ticket price with an audio guide, this is a big minus. There is a Russian voice acting.
Wireless headphones were presented at the exit
A great museum.
But the entrance seemed expensive. 1052 lira was given for 2.
There is a special application with a free audio guide. You need to download it in advance, install it on your phone, and after paying for the museum, scan the qr code from the entrance ticket and you can listen to the explanations of the exhibits.
It is very convenient, but I did not have the Internet and the opportunity to download the guide in the museum. And there is no WiFi in the museum(((
Nevertheless, the museum is excellent.
The best place to visit in the midday heat.
Most of the statues are copies of the Roman period. That is, of course, they are also ancient, but they are the works of students of great sculptors. Nevertheless, they amaze with their realism, fine work, and emotions. Be sure to select the most important figure for yourself, and then read more about it. The effect of presence is ensured! For example, I was hanging by the statue of Hermes.
And on the second floor you will find almost an altar of Orthodox icons. As well as the relics of St. Nicholas (very impressive).
A magnificent collection of antique statues and sarcophagi, mostly from the city of Perge! We have spent several hours here, we will be happy to come again.
A good museum, the first hall is a bit boring, there is not enough interactive, but I really liked the hall with sculptures, sarcophagi and the courtyard. There are not many people, you can safely see everything
A very large collection of sculptures!!! But I was free during the festival week, I probably wouldn't have gone for money.

A beautiful museum. There are many antique sculptures and sarcophagi. The cost is 10 euros (November 2024), but we were during the festival and only paid 350 lire for the audio guide. They are mostly from the excavations of the city of Perge. I recommend visiting Perge first, and then going to this museum.
If you are interested in spending time in Antalya, then be sure to visit it. The Hadrian's Arch is certainly good, but the museum is quite rich. Of course, there is more exposition in Istanbul and Ankara, but it is also quite large here and we were happy to visit it.
