The National Museum of the History of Azerbaijan. If you are in Baku, it is definitely worth visiting this iconic place. The museum is located in the house of the famous industrialist, oil magnate Haji Tagiyev. The exposition of the history of Azerbaijan is actually located in one half of the house. The second half of the house tells about Tagiyev's life and you can see the rooms in which this famous man lived.
Tagiyev's story is gorgeous! If you go, be sure to take a guide, it's not so interesting without him. The history of Azerbaijan goes from primitive times to the present day. Of course, they do not like the Soviet times, well, as it is. Tagiyev's rooms are captivating!

The museum is located in the mansion of the oil magnate G. Tagiyev. On the second floor, his living and reception rooms have been restored and are on display.
This is the best museum I have visited in Baku! There is a rich collection of ancient artifacts found in the region.
It's great that you can order a museum guide service. It costs 10 manats (entrance ticket is 15 manats), the tour lasts an hour and a half.
I was lucky, I was alone and the guide explained everything to me individually. I recommend a guided visit, it will be much more interesting!
An interesting museum.
At the time of the visit, only a few halls related to the history of the Tagiyev family were open.
The museum guide told everything very interestingly, it was extremely pleasant to go on such an excursion.
I was somewhat disappointed that the main exposition of the historical museum does not work, which we learned about at the beginning of the tour.
Only Tagiyev's rooms are open. Everything is beautifully restored. Modern with an oriental flavor. It will impress fans of interior museums. We are amateurs)
The museum is interesting. On the second floor there is an interior exposition, on the first floor at the time of the visit there was an exhibition dedicated to Karabakh. The only thing that was sorely lacking was explanatory descriptions of the exhibits.
Our reality is that history is being rewritten and this museum is a vivid confirmation.
But there is a musical direction where professionals work. And there is no such need to rewrite history.
The museum itself was closed for reconstruction. We managed to inspect a part of the house belonging to the former owner Tagiyev Gadzhi in the past. A chic industrialist's house is not inferior in luxury to the royal personages, with an oriental flavor. I recommend it for viewing.
I put 5, despite the fact that it is not actually represented as a museum of history at the moment. Only the rooms of the Tagiyev Museum House are open. I really liked it, I recommend it
Please specify the opening hours and weekends. If there is information about the museum, it is not difficult to correct it, it speaks of respect for visitors. People!!!! The museum is closed on Mondays!!!!!
They paid 20 manats for looking at Tagiyev's rooms, only then they found out that the main exposition was closed :) they naturally refused to return the money.
Several halls are open, the main exposition does not work, which is reported only at the end of the visit. In this connection, the cost of visiting 5-6 halls is clearly overstated for tourists.
