Beautiful example of modernism, the building is perfectly renovated and functional. It hosts the Bank of Georgia HQ and it was not possible for me to visit the interior. Also the surroundings are a worth a visit with their Soviet style university and apartment buildings in a mostly greenish area.
I haven't been to the central office, there's nothing to talk about. However, I came across the work of a branch in Batumi at Sheriff Khimshiashvili St. 7, Juli Shartava avenue...They "worked out" the golden crown transfer in an absolutely unprofessional manner, they could not issue the transfer, moreover, they made a "refund" in the system without knowing how to manage the software, thereby excluding the possibility of receiving the transfer in other banks in Batumi and in Georgia as a whole. Later they promised for 10 Lari . To give a certificate that the "refund" of the transfer occurred due to the "policy of the Bank," as the manager put it, but after an hour and two and three they refused to issue this document at all, which could be presented at the sending bank. They promised to call and explain later about the solution to the issue, but accordingly they did not do so. The result: a day spent in the bank on 03/28/2025, the lack of a solution to the issue before the seg.On the day of 2.04.2025, there was no desire to understand the problem, and most importantly, it was not possible to return the transfer to the sender's bank due to the lack of a certificate of the reason for the return of the transfer from the recipient's bank. And the most unpleasant thing is the deterioration of the health of the person for whom the transfer was due to the inability to purchase expensive medicines. The manager + the specialist is some kind of shame!
They did not change dollars for lari, no one knows Russian, only Georgian citizens have the right to exchange. I was in 4 banks in Tbilisi, I couldn't change anywhere, thanks to my fellow countrymen, they changed it.the younger generation does not understand Russian at all and English too. As a tourist, I was upset.
The bank's policy is ridiculous, there is no logic. Decisions are made unprofessionally. All tourists open accounts here. However, if I have a permanent residence permit and have been living in Georgia for 10 years, my husband is a citizen of Georgia and I have accounts in TBS, they refused to open a regular account without explaining the reasons 😂
