The chimes symbolize the friendship of the peoples of the Soviet Union. The internal system with mechanisms was donated to the Kyrgyz SSR by Armenia in 1984. In the early years of the work, the chimes were struck hourly with a loud and precise ringing. There was a tradition — on New Year's Eve, residents and guests of Bishkek gathered near the chimes to make a wish to the sounds of the clock striking.

A very beautiful and original composition. It looks very organically in the whole ensemble with the Main Post Office. And a few years ago there was a unique feature - every hour there was a melody from some world-famous clock. At 17:00, the Big Bang was ringing, for example) Well, apparently not everyone liked what they decided to change. Personally, it came to me, you could know the time without looking at the melody)
