A historic place with steep hills. We really enjoyed it. We visited in November when the tourist season was already at its end. There were a lot of visitors, so we had a great pleasure from a quiet walk. We recommend you to visit.

The basilica was built of red brick and faced with marble. The church was decorated with marble columns with unusual colors, specially brought here from the islands of the Marmara Sea. On the columns, made in the Ionian style, you can find monograms of Emperor Justinian and Theodora.
