The central place of the capital of Abkhazia, the city of Sukhum. The ancient embankment, which was rumored to have been built back in the days of the Russian Empire. A place for mass walks of citizens and vacationers. It is a very beautiful and convenient place for walking. Beautiful view of the entire Sukhumi Bay. A comfortable beach, but pebbly, not sandy.
You can see the ruins of the ancient fortress, Dioscuria, which have been preserved since the time of the Roman Empire.
Yes, Sukhum has survived more than one empire. It was once part of the Ottoman Empire.

I was here in the summer of 2021. In principle, a good pebble beach. The water is clean enough. There are 5 cafes right on the shore. Sun beds can be rented for money in a cafe. It is annoying that a lot of wood debris is washed ashore. Hordes of dogs, though they don't touch anyone. Well, some kind of drain sewer from the city directly into the sea. As it is, everything is fine.
