Beruvala is a small settlement with narrow roads, low buildings and modest beaches with greenish water. It's a very Asian town. Public transport - ancient Mercedes buses - are long, huge, beautifully painted inside and out. There are no air conditioners in them, the windows are open, and sometimes people are packed, as in the USSR in the 80s. It's better to get around by taxi or completely ridiculous open Tuk Tuks. All of this can be accessed through the Pick me app. The prices are ridiculous. There are few fruits, watermelons are not sweet, small, mango and papaya can be found delicious. The store is the largest, just like our normal Magnet or Pyaterochka. There is a small selection of vegetables and fruits in them. Only the most common and necessary. You can only get from Colombo airport by taxi in 1.5 - 2 hours for 10-15 thousand rupees. At the airport, you can withdraw rupees from ATMs if the card is working. The commission is about 200 rupees. There are several good hotels, as well as Balinese-style villas with the same smell of old raw wood. I didn't find any open bathroom toilets like in Bali. Lazy monitor lizards walk along the roads and beaches like cats. If you're out on the road, everyone's standing.
A very beautiful country, very kind and decent people. There are a lot of stories that can be used to judge people living in Sri Lanka, but unfortunately, in this format, I think it's unlikely that all this will fit. Kandy Colombo, zoo, elephant farms-everything is very cool.
