I liked the hotel. It's not new, but everything works. The staff is polite and not intrusive. The area is very clean and well maintained. The beach is gorgeous. WiFi is stable with not bad speed throughout the area, including the beach. Despite the fact that the hotel is large and there are not a few guests, it was not crowded. Live music in the evening. Very pleasant. Beautiful nature. The problems with the power outage at the hotel did not affect the work in any way. I'm not fussy about food. But in any case, there is a choice. There was no 18+ hotel for children. People come here for the beach. The beach and the Florida Straits are the best.

We chose the hotel based on reviews and were satisfied with everything. A great room on a high floor with a view of the sea, there are slippers and bathrobes, a great wide beach with good sun beds and umbrellas. As for food, you won't stay hungry, but Cuba is about beauty, freedom and happiness ... and not about eating "from the belly" in a hotel. The coffee and Kava in the hotel lobby are good, but I didn't like the cocktails. Entertainment is not intrusive, but if you want, you will have fun all day.

We were at this hotel from 14-23 November 24.
Everything is very decent, towels and bed were changed every day. I always left presents on the bed (pills, chocolates and weighty feminine things)The room was on the 9th floor with an ocean view, it's not the sunny side, the air conditioner was even turned off at night.
As for food, we weren't hungry, if a person is picky, it will probably be difficult for him.
You definitely shouldn't take grilled beef, it's a car tire, pork, super fish.
The cheeses are very tasty, there was always rice, for breakfast we had only an omelette, without fried eggs. Animation on the beach and by the pool is great, funny guys. The beach is great, there is a bar not far from the beach where you can have a sandwich. And a bar with drinks right on the beach.

In my opinion, the hotel is very good. Yes, there is a contingent of mostly 40+, but...
The hotel itself looks decent, nice spacious rooms, courteous staff.
For food:
There is always an omelette or fried eggs for breakfast, they are cooked in front of you. Several types of sausages, vegetables, cheeses, fruits and pastries. In the main restaurant, coffee, tea, and water are poured in the morning. There is also a coffee corner next to the restaurant, where there is very good coffee and small snacks, open from morning until 18:30. Anyone who overslept breakfast or did not get to lunch can have a quiet snack here with croissants and other pastries. For lunch and dinner, different types of meat are served, chicken, turkey, beef, pork. There are fish. We were at the end of February, there is no special variety of fruit, only guava, papaya and pineapples. I won't say I drink alcohol, but judging by the bar, there is enough of it, and there is beer and rum, whiskey, tequila. Juices and lemonades are available.
Overall, the rating of the hotel is 10/10.
The beach is wide, there are always sun beds, it is cleaned with a tractor from algae after rough weather. The room had a direct view of the ocean, we liked it. The room itself has two beds, a drip coffee maker and coffee for her, a mini fridge, 1.5 liters of drinking water are replenished every day. The main tourists are Canadians and representatives of other nearby countries. The staff is used to tipping, keep in mind) But they are happy to accept sweets and jewelry (jewelry) and medicines. We stayed at this hotel from April 9-18, 2024. The hotel is beautiful, there is a lot of free space, greenery, and air. The room was not very fresh, but the plumbing, as it seemed to me, was new, everything was pretty clean, bed linen was changed about once every 2-3 days, towels were about the same, there are no questions about room cleaning.
The food is... Cuban)) there was always cabbage, eggplant, pumpkin, and some other vegetables. At breakfast, lunch and dinner, some dishes were prepared in front of you. Cocktails, just a fire in the bars that are located in the hotel itself.
The staff speaks Russian poorly or does not speak at all, we mostly spoke English. The foreigners "spoiled" the staff with tips, so the staff was a little more friendly to them.
The beach is just great, clean, beautiful, the ocean was warm, the entry into the water was convenient, there were rarely stones, but compared to neighboring beaches, we had very few of them)
Various events were held at the hotel every day, and you could find something to do all day. There was live music at lunch and in the evening, and there was also a Cuban party.
In general, we were satisfied with the trip, I recommend the hotel, maybe we will come back here again!

We returned from this hotel on 22.12, which I would like to say, in general, the impressions of the hotel are only positive.
Check-in- we were brought to the hotel closer to 20:00, so we were checked in quickly, but they gave us a room right at the bar on the 1st floor, we went to the reception and asked to change, but at that time the hotel was full and we were told to come by 14:00 the next day. As a result, we were moved to the 12th floor, to a nice room with a view of the road.
Rooms - the room on the 1st floor and the room on the 12th floor had a double bed, comfortable mattresses and pillows, a bathtub (not a shower), a cosmetic kit (gel, shampoo, soap, napkins), a bottle of water and 2 cans of beer in the refrigerator every day for free (they deliver every day if you drink). The furniture is old, the rooms are not fresh either, but it's not critical.
Food - meat (chicken, pork, beef) and fish are fried every day on the stove with you, they are not always fried, only salt is used from spices and sometimes sauce is poured, but if you are unpretentious, it is quite tasty and you can alternate. Of the side dishes, rice is more often in different interpretations, there are also sweet potatoes and pasta (we haven't tried it), there are vegetables - more often green tomatoes (but sometimes ripe ones), cucumbers, green beans, etc., in general, you can always find something. In the morning, always freshly squeezed smoothies are a fire.
The only drawback is the small queues and the same thing every day.
Animation - something happens all day both on the ocean and by the pool: salsa, volleyball, water polo, etc. In the evening, in different bars, live music, performances of bands, discos every day, in general, you can always find something to do.
Otherwise, the main thing is attitude, and flaws can always be found - if you want to.

If you really want to save money, it's better to buy folk cigars like Reloba or something like that. The hotel is pretty clean. But with a local flavor. Perhaps the only disadvantage of the hotel is that there are no service elevators. And all the cleaners with carts, maintenance workers, etc. Go along with the guests. 1. Half of the reviews on Yandex here are for the PGS hotel, this is a different hotel. I am writing a review about Blay Varadero. It is because of the confusion with PGS that the score is worse. Either Yandex got it wrong, or tourists.
2. The hotel has a Russian-language chat in telegram, there is a lot of useful information from other tourists.
3. The cleaning is so-so, a bow will be tied from the curtains, and the dirt on the bedside table from the previous guests will not be wiped. Towels were changed. There is no bed linen.
4. The food is not a fountain, but according to many tourists, the food was almost wonderful for Cuba. As a result, I managed to eat pretty well every time.
5. Alcohol. You always want the best, but you are satisfied. Especially in the main bar, some bartenders worked quite well.
6. The beach is great, there were always free sun beds. We had a rest in October.
7. The reception speaks English poorly, and no one speaks Russian at all. There are many Russian-speaking tourists.
8. Everyone advises taking mosquito repellent, but we didn't need it.
9. In the chat, they advised to take thermal mugs - that's great advice! Even after an hour or two on the beach, cold water or alcohol remained in them.
10. There is a large umbrella in the room. There is a 1.5 liter bottle of water per day. The sockets in the room were suitable.

Vacationing in February 2024, the hotel is one of the five most popular hotels in Varadero. The hotel is clean, the room is cleaned every day, there is soap, shampoo and gel. Animation is every day and very diverse, in the afternoon by the pool, in the evening at the bar or on the street. There are two restaurants on site that need to be booked in advance, but we did not notice any difference in the menu with the main restaurant, except for the atmosphere. Passage to the ocean on a wooden walkway bridge. It's very romantic, especially in the evening. The beach is sandy, very long. We walked along it in each direction for an hour and it did not end. It's a little dirty after the storm, but the staff at the hotels try to clean it up. There are also sun beds and umbrellas on the beaches, but there are fewer of them than by the pool. The hotel inside is very interestingly decorated with live plants. We had a very good rest, we did not regret choosing this hotel.

Nice large rooms with huge beds (wider than 2 meters) and a very soft mattress (I would like it to be harder).
We took a view of the garden and it's still a view of the road from the main entrance to the hotel, but the road ahead, 500 meters away, and beyond it the sea. Therefore, a view of the sea is partly obtained and in the evening it is pleasant to look at the Old cars passing from the balcony). Therefore, it is better to take a higher floor, because various vehicles constantly arrive at the hotel below.
A nice beach and friendly staff, and a $1 tip is even more welcome).
Delicious fruits - papaya, pineapples, guava (sometimes watermelon and bananas) have always been there.

The hotel is three-starred, the food is average, you can't even wait for local fruits of good quality in the season, they can't cook meat, the rooms are old, well, the main thing is that they are not served, there was a lot of dirt everywhere at the entrance, the linen did not even change. The hotel is excellent by Cuban standards:
– the rooms are large and "unstoppable"
– ocean views from all sides of the hotel
– the cleaning is excellent (soft toilet paper and hygiene products are available, regularly updated)

Hotel. According to reviews and already from my own experience, it is one of the best in Cuba. Blau Varadero **** (🔞, adults only) built in 2005. Partial renovation in 2017.
The highlight of the hotel:
the 14-storey building looks like a huge liner. Inside the lobby there is a green area, a fountain, a piano, several lobbies. Plants hang down throughout the entire height of the building. It looks fascinating.
The advantages of the hotel:
💚 A spacious hotel, only for adults 😎 mostly foreign speech is heard, everyone goes with cocktails, having fun, but during the entire stay there were no performances like "Tagiyil" or soulless drunken bodies hanging on the bar counters. The ears also rest from baby crying, screaming — only Latin music, saxophone or piano sounds in space.
Beautiful green well-groomed territory, with bridges, paths, benches and sun beds. Gardeners work every day: they cut, plant, decorate, and collect garbage from reservoirs with a net
Food by Cuban standards is very diverse and rich: grilled fish, pork, beef, stewed and boiled turkey, chicken; sliced cheese and sausages, all kinds of vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, beets, cabbage, carrots, pickles), especially pumpkin, sweet potatoes and fried cucumbers. There is a corner of Italian cuisine nearby: pizza slices and spaghetti with sauces for every taste and with fervor! From fruits: papaya, pineapple, guava. 💜 Animation. Although according to some reviews, the hotel was positioned as a hotel for pensioners, there is no time to be bored: animation all day and every day. Salsa is especially popular, animators conducted training and discos on the beach, by the pool and after dinner in the lobby. Free access to yoga, table tennis, badminton, billiards, 20 min sailboat ride with an instructor and 30 min catamaran ride. A lotto and foam party were held by the pool once.
Thematic programs were also held in the evenings: biker shows, synchronized performances on the water, opera, "Guess the Melody", jazz performances, an evening of Cuban music.🎼🎹🪘🎷🎺🎤🎻 And although the main contingent consisted of Canadians of retirement age, they could still give a head start to young people: they danced salsa with pleasure and participated in competitions!
💙Wide coastline, the beach is cleaned of algae with a tractor "Belarusian", fine white sand with an abundance of shells and beautiful pieces of coral🪸 along the water's edge, there are always enough sun beds, umbrellas too. Merchants of cigars, bananas, hats and tunics walk by along the shore every now and then, but the hotel security does not let them near the sun beds, protects our peace from charlatans and obsession.
The room is spacious, there is a hair dryer, ironing board, iron, refrigerator, drip coffee maker, mugs, glasses, plastic furniture and a mini dryer on the balcony. The beds are wide, the mattresses are sooo comfortable!!!If the floor is higher than the 6th floor, then there will be an ocean view from either side of the hotel. 😍🤩🥳
The territory of the hotel is treated with a special insect sprayer. Mosquitoes do not swarm, cockroaches do not swarm.
Disadvantages of the hotel:
The curtains in the room are darned, the linen is clean, but with unwashed stains, there is a leak stain on the ceiling. All the plumbing has seen the sights, it's good that it still works.
There is a constant smell of dampness in the room, if clothes hang on a chair, even dry, they feel damp to the touch, respectively, swimsuits, towels do not have time to dry overnight.
Good audibility of concerts from the lobby will keep you awake if you suddenly decide to go to bed early at 23h.
Cuba is a poor country, but at the same time spoiled by compassionate tourists. It seems like you're going to an all-inclusive, but every time you see a picture: if Canadians come to the counter for a coffee or cocktail, then they definitely have a "tip" in their hand. Accordingly, this bribes the staff and they begin to "work for them ", and you wait, wait...
💔 In a week, our underwear may have been changed 1 time and when we left a tip of 1usd.
With such gorgeous advantages, minor disadvantages can be tolerated. After all, the nearest hotels, according to the stories of vacationers, sometimes there was no hot water, then there were interruptions with bread, vegetables, toilet paper ... 😯

I stayed at the hotel in the first half of November 2023. I liked the hotel, I chose it on the recommendation of Argentines I know. The emphasis was made to have as few compatriots as possible. The food is not varied, yes. But this is not a feature of the hotel - this is the trouble of the whole of Cuba. We knew where we were going and what we wanted, so we didn't act up. Other hotels didn't even have eggs. In Blau, both boiled eggs and scrambled eggs or omelets were offered for breakfast every morning. There was always something to eat and everything was fresh. Room cleaning is daily, beach towels have been changed, although the operating mode of the beach towel pick-up point should be adjusted - they open late, close early. We have never swum in the pool. We didn't fly for so many hours to wallow in the pool. We swam in the ocean, and it's beautiful! The water is much more beautiful than in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. The beach is wide and the most beautiful of all the hotels that are nearby. The staff is friendly and cheerful, Russians are treated very well, they try to learn our language. They paid extra for a room with an ocean view, but the surcharge was adequate - $ 9 per person per day. I liked everything very much, I am completely satisfied with the hotel.

If everything is so bad with food, then tours do not need to be sold for 4 thousand euros... The hotel is terrible, it's the worst place I've been. Only the ocean is beautiful here and the poor people who are trying their best not to be out of work....Terrible food, bones instead of meat, lack of kolla, sprite for cocktails, lack of any greens and vegetables for salads, and even this cooking is terrible. There are no normal glasses in the bar, and everything is often served in plastic. And even with heavy rain, the hotel stupidly drowns and they close the main bar because water flows from the roof, and then there is nowhere to drop an apple in the Piano bar, not to mention the load on the bar. Quite a good hotel, the food certainly suffers when there are a lot of people, and the cooks are in a hurry, there was undercooked meat. At the end of the rest (beginning of October), delicious fruits began, there were no Mosquitoes (we saw a couple of them in 10 days), everyone has tea in the rooms, they also provided us with coffee (a superior room). Our sockets are suitable. Sometimes it smelled of hydrogen sulfide early in the morning (the windows were on the bay), but the hotel was not to blame for this, and it was generally uncritical. It seems to me that it is better to ask for higher floors, it is quieter there. The best cocktails in the lobby bar, a very cool bartender at the beach bar (he brought beer himself when he saw that the cup was running out). The beach is stunning, fine pleasant sand and a very good entrance. We walked along the beach further from Varadero, where the beaches are mostly worse. Russian russians were almost absent during our arrival (which is rather a plus), almost all foreigners were very friendly, by the end of the holiday there were more Russians. The staff is very responsive and friendly, no one asked for tips, but they were undoubtedly happy even for a dollar. I liked the evening shift a little less. A very intelligent and friendly holiday turned out. The hotel is in the concept of 18+. Free kayaking and catamarans. I thought for a long time whether to write or not, but I arrived and decided, I still need to write. We rested at PGS, I didn't really count on comfort, since this is one of the not expensive hotels at the time of buying the tour. I love Cuba, I have flown 4 times, BUT I will never return to this hotel and I do not advise, pay a little extra and at least have a good rest. Of the advantages, this is the beach and the ocean, that's all over! On the first day at the bar, we seemed to have everything (wine, beer and even a call), we were pleasantly surprised, but rejoiced early, a day later until the end of the vacation there was nothing but rum (there was ice and rum) everything .... There was only instant coffee in the coffee shop (they said the grains ran out) the dining room is the biggest trouble, one rice, pasta, cheese, pumpkin, papaya, oranges, sausages, sometimes there was meat, a couple of times fish, avocado, beans, beans, eggs and cucumber, yes, when you eat it for a couple of days, it's still tolerable, but when two weeks, you also have to run by the opening of the dining room or even stay hungry, it's annoying, stomach cramps ... and only then do you think when you get home ... There are no complaints about the room, everything is fine, cleaning of course was lame, nothing was changed for two weeks, well, we were ready for this, so we suffered, we only washed the floor and put water on. There are a lot of mosquitoes, just gnawing. Yes, we tried to be distracted by the ocean, it's a vacation, but not to fanaticism. In a word, the hotel is bad.

The PGS Varadero Hotel 4* (Cuba, Varadero) is the cheapest and most budget hotel for Russians today.
But you will be very upset by the hotel:
- dirt in the dining room
- poor nutrition
-the staff is lazy and indifferent to requests
- the territory of the hotel is literally a swamp with frogs and mosquitoes.
- there is practically no animation and everything is monotonous.
- check-in to the hotel rooms is unrealistically long.

It's time to finally write a review. We went on a honeymoon with my husband to this "beautiful" hotel for 15 days in August 2023. I have never regretted so much that I took so many days on vacation (on day 10-11 we already wanted to go back home). To say that the hotel is bad is to say nothing. The flight at 14 o'clock did not scare us, we knew where we were going, it was all for the sake of the ocean. It was our first time in Cuba, and for some reason we decided to visit this particular hotel. It was the WORST decision! To begin with, no one met us when we arrived at the hotel, did not take us to the building where we were settled, did not even explain where to go. It's good that there were kind Russian people who helped. We arrived at 21.00, it was dark, nothing was visible and it was unclear where to go. Well, here we have found our building, the room. We are trying to open the door with this magic card. Sweaty, wet, tired, already bitten by lumps, we opened our room for 15 minutes, nothing worked. As a result, the husband went to the reception to find out the reason. It turned out that the cards were not activated. They gave me other cards, of which only one worked. And thanks for that. We go into the room, ordinary, standard, but we did not expect to see wow. The whole room was covered in mosquitoes, the walls were covered with some small bugs. Just tin! I'm squeamish, it was a disappointment for me. It's good that the room has an ocean view. And then, we paid extra for it initially from the tour operator. We decided not to tell the reception that we were on a honeymoon, hoping for a bottle of champagne at least. To which they replied, "Well, congratulations." I don't understand the people who admire the food of this hotel. The question immediately arises what they eat at home. The only thing that was really delicious was the ice cream. The meat is burnt, cheese and ham are impossible to eat, salads looked disgusting, fruits are sour, rotten, water is poured into carafes from the tap! The dishes are dirty, they wipe the glasses with a dirty rag, very dirty, as if they had washed the floors with it first. Pancakes, pizza, cakes... it's a nightmare! One name. My husband is not moody, he eats everything, but even he was not happy about all this. And what kind of fights for food. This is a separate story. It's like people have never eaten anything. They fight, yell at each other, fill their plates like crazy. Thursday is a fish day. There's a nightmare going on there. We didn't go to dinner before 7.30 pm because people are becoming inadequate. They're really fighting over food. I flew 14 hours to Cuba for the sake of Cuban flavor, and eventually got a purely redneck Russian flavor. It was terrible for me. Disco at 23.00 near the lighthouse. Oh my God, young girls who twist their booty about Cubans like they're inadequate, right down to their underpants! Men who have swelled up, undress and shake their bellies, and scream. Music? The music is purely Russian: Hands up, Leningrad, etc. Seriously? Did I come to Cuba to listen to Russian songs? Listen to it at home in your club. The animators are Russian girls, I'm shocked by them too. They may miss the Russian people, they like it all themselves, so they have fun as much as they can. The animation is at a low level, the show at 21.30 is the same, every day. The children's show is the same. I forgot to mention the so-called "restaurant" Ala kart. Which then makes you feel bad, you even get drunk and don't remember anything. Therefore, I do not recommend cocktails! Don't buy the cigars they sell on the beach as a gift if you don't want to embarrass yourself! I advise you to try fish and lobster on the beach with a male lifeguard. This is really delicious! But during the whole vacation, most of the time we went to Varadero to a cafe and ate there, because it was hard to do it at the hotel. When I flew to Cuba, I didn't expect anything super, we were warned about the service. But I didn't think it would be that bad. It was purely by chance that these days we came to visit the neighboring Princess Hotel. And frankly, this is heaven and earth! Silence, tranquility, the staff does not work for money, they work for a smile. Well-groomed, beautiful territory, clean pool, and the food is insanely delicious. Therefore, those who say that Cubans allegedly do not know how to cook, it is only at the PGS hotel that they do not know how to cook. If you don't give money to PGS, they won't do anything. The Russians themselves are to blame, spoiled and arranged it is unclear what. In general, PGS is a purely Russian hotel. Russian russians, Russian tracks, drunken men and women shouting on the beach and fighting among themselves, then you are clearly here! I wrote a review only about the hotel! There are no complaints about the ocean or the beach. It's the ocean, of course it's magical. But the beach... the sunbeds are occupied in the evening! Which was weird for me too. My advice is if you really want to enjoy your vacation and Cuba, then choose another hotel. It is better to pay 10-20 thousand rubles more expensive, but you will get more positive emotions. We returned from the hotel 2 days ago. I'll tell you briefly about everything
The hotel itself is normal, the staff is 50/50. Some are friendly, some are rude. The lobby is beautiful, no insects were noticed. Mosquitoes only

We had a rest at the end of March 2023.
As soon as we arrived, we were settled immediately (~ 14.00) without additional charges in the 16th building (just behind the lighthouse). In the building to the left of the reception, check-in was at 16:00. Check-out at 12, with an additional payment of $ 25, can be extended to 15-16👌 Extension on the day of departure at the reception. Departure at 22, we were picked up at 17.30
About the hotel. Located at the very end. The hotel has a large, well-groomed, beautiful territory, there is a place to walk; if you go beyond the lighthouse to the end: there is not yet a residential part, but with a good (free) swimming pool. The buildings are in satisfactory condition. The room itself is large, huge beds (new), the furniture in the rooms is worn of course (but also in Turkey, Egypt if you do not have a suite - the same), plumbing is tolerable. Wi–Fi is free, it catches satisfactorily in the room and the central building (where the reception is), if it crashes, you go to the room to the right of the reception, everything will be fixed. 90% of the vacationers are Slavs. The pros and cons of this composition are clear to everyone. On the one hand, everyone will always support each other, help, share medicines, ointments, etc. (there is a hotel chat in telegram, I advise you to join who has decided), on the other hand, a meeting with Tagil is quite possible in the dining room and other places.
👍 The beach is a delight. They are cleaned regularly. There is enough space for everyone. Probably only in this hotel the beach is the largest in length, it consists of 4 seemingly remote zones from each other. Activities near building 12 and the beach opposite the restaurant: warm-up, dancing, volleyball, bocce. On the beach near the lighthouse: sail, kayak, catamaran for free for 30 minutes (but no one stood with a stopwatch) – so the hotel has not only a bar, but also other joys.
👍On food: everything was good for us. It is difficult to get food in Cuba, the main food for hotels is imported. And they bring it from some wonderful country (there were suggestions that Spain). There were no such delicious cheeses (including dor blue), bacon, ham in Turkey or Egypt. Meat is well cooked, the fish is delicious, brown rice is very tasty, some amazing baked pumpkin, seafood from time to time. Fruits: amazing pineapples, papaya, guava (only they are amazing in the restaurant by the pool, in the evening it is also A la Carte) and the juices there are just fantastic - freshly squeezed fresh fruits (not that in the main restaurant). There is ice cream. There are desserts (there are no enthusiastic cheers, but it's good for me)). I went to Cuba hoping to lose weight (after reading a lot of scary stuff) and eventually gained weight.. I agree, alas, there is no such ideal stability and there are interruptions in supplies, for a couple of days the assortment in the restaurant looked modest. There are dishes, in our opinion, prepared strangely, they have a peculiar approach to salads...By the way, the chef at this hotel is from Turkey. He's a fan of his business! And in any case, he tries to make it tasty and varied. Thanks Erdem! We appreciated it!
According to many negative reviews, the restaurant has dirty dishes...well, you need to look carefully at the plate that you take, and if anything, take another one)) but again, in comparison with Turkey (a good expensive 5 with full occupancy of the hotel in September 2022 also sinned). The choice of good quality alcohol is quite large. Spanish wines are pink, white, red, in the main restaurant the waiters come and offer drinks of their choice. There are enough strong drinks in the bar and if there is not a huge queue, the bartenders make excellent cocktails. In the coffee shop to the right of the reception, a charming lady and a young man are doing their job above all praise, one of the best coffees that I have ever tasted. They also have such a drink (I can already make a mistake in the name) cafe Hispaniola cava: liqueur, coffee, whipped cream...after lunch, it's a delight!
👍 The animation team also has a separate respect!) unobtrusively created the mood for the whole vacation. I have always believed that animators are important for children, and for the first time I appreciated such an excellent work aimed at an adult contingent. After dinner, there is almost always live music in the lobby by the bar, at 21:30 there is a performance or contests in the amphitheater, at 23:00 there is a disco. It's hard to reach it given the time difference, but when we had enough strength) it was very cool. Well done animators always had a great evening!
Mosquitoes spoil the paradise picture there (the territory is being processed, but there are still a lot of them in the evening, and they have nothing to do with the wind... Therefore, it is necessary to take all mosquito repellents with you: the body is treated, and after bites, and a fumigator and candles are in the room if on the balcony. Of course, there are people who are tasteless to insects...But I got it!!! Somehow I underestimated them at first... and if it wasn't for fenistil ... (in 11 days of rest, I emptied the tube).
The wind was a joyless discovery for me there...as I later learned from vacationers in the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, the presence of wind in this part is quite regular...
Well, the objective disadvantage of this hotel is cleaning the rooms, changing linen, towels... That's where the negative angry reviews are right. There is a high probability that the room will not be cleaned... At all...That's how it is... I have not seen this anywhere else ...
Although in some buildings responsible hardworking maids are lucky there, but in most of the young ladies are insolent, gifts and tips are taken away, this does not affect the cleaning situation in any way.
If the hotel had a feedback form with wishes for the management, it would be very useful to improve the service (and, accordingly, increase the rating of the hotel). Because this service discredits the whole team. I hope the Pegasus management reads the reviews too)
But this did not spoil our rest. We are very satisfied! Fell in love with Cuba! Everyone there is really very friendly and positive. I really wanted to thank the hotel staff (which we did), in my opinion, the medicines caused the greatest joy.
By the way, collect the maximum first-aid kit for rest. If you need anything, you will not be able to buy medicines.

We had a rest with my wife from 18.10.23 to 27.10.23. In general, everything is not bad. Food, by Cuban standards, is 4. The territory is of course tiny, but there is no pandemonium. There are always free sunbeds on the beach and by the pool. The ocean is beautiful. The rooms are freshly painted. The 18+ concept is just fine. There are few compatriots.

Against the background of my previous vacations in Crimea and Turkey, as well as a trip to Varadero in 2019 in the Iberostar Laguna Azul 5*, I can confidently say that the quality of rest in Blau, even taking into account some decline amid the pandemic, exceeds expectations. I liked everything. I'll tell you about some of the features in the end, but I can't call them cons.
-- Service. That's something. They always come up first, ask what they need (to drink), and offer help. Managers appear from time to time in the restaurant, at the bar, on the beach and make sure that everything corresponds to the level. The guys at the bar, restaurant, on the beach, maids, reception, security - everyone with whom I have repeatedly interacted - work well, without complaints, on the contrary, with dedication and strive to help. I would like to mention security separately. I lost my phone in a taxi (I took it on the street myself), they took a statement, called the police and half an hour later! the car has already returned to the hotel. The taxi driver said that he did not notice my smartphone lying on the torpedo and fell on the floor of the front seat... Well, OK. The main thing is the result. I will also mention the chefs, especially the big dark-skinned Vladimir with white-rimmed glasses. He cooks great, I liked the lobster that was paid for separately. The head chef of the restaurant, he turned to me himself, I asked him to add less salt everywhere. And he said he would! The guys on the beach, the lifeguards and the bartender. They always help in everything they can (they can do a lot). The waiters always ran for drinks, made special cocktails, and fulfilled requests. Very good!
-- The contingent. Germans, Scots, English, Spanish speakers, Cubans, Canadians. There were 5-7 Russians. Quiet, pleasant, in the evening a piano is playing in the piano bar, no rush music! Communication was with many people. All the people are nice, no one sent, no one was rude. I reciprocated.
-- Crowds. They weren't there. The hotel is rumored to be 20% full.
-- The beach. Excellent. An employee carries a sunbed and wipes it. The lifeguard vigilantly pulls people out of the water when the red flag. The bartender spreads cocktails without sparing his legs...

Friends! We will not recommend this hotel to anyone! Stay away from him! To say that the service in PGS is bad is to say nothing! We had a family vacation in late April - early May. Towels were changed only 2 times in 10 days, despite the fact that tips and gifts were put on the bed every day for the maids. The safe didn't work, it wasn't fixed. The food is disgusting. Animator girls deceive tourists: stories about the fact that 2-3 weeks ago everything was wonderful at the hotel, something just happened, to put it mildly, were not impressed. We were saved by multiple excursions, in fact, for which we flew 13.5 hours to Cuba. At least there we could eat normally at lunch (Havana rum-tobacco-Hemingway, Three cities, the Caribbean coast from Guam, Cayo Blanco). We also went to the city of Varadero by bus ($5 per person per day) There is an excellent lobster in the excellent Sakura 62-63 Street restaurant (it is called by local Chinas). My family and I have traveled 1/3 of the world, and we have lived abroad in many places. But, such a mess has not been seen anywhere. Our advice to you is that if you more or less want comfort, choose not PGS!!! Melia is a good hotel. There are 4-5 different ones in Varadero. Others were not bad, our compatriots lived there, with whom we talked on excursions and from whom we learned about their service and way of life. The choice, of course, is yours.
