It's a great museum. How is the excavation of sunken ships carried out? What cargoes were transported by ships of different times and civilizations? Which is the oldest ship found off the coast of modern Turkey (in fact, the oldest found in the world - 1500 BC)?
The ticket is not cheap (23 euros to the fortress itself and all the museums located in it in May 2025), but it's worth it. 3 hours in one go.
The Museum of Underwater Archaeology of Bodrum is located in St. Peter's Castle. It features exhibits found on ships that were wrecked in ancient times in the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. They said it was big. But I wouldn't say that. An interesting place to visit.
There are many exhibits in the open air. Rooms with air conditioning. The most interesting thing is on the top floor. Climbing the stairs. It's hard in the heat. We were just before closing time. It took two hours to run. In summer they work until 22-00. The evening views are beautiful. 23 €. Children under 8 years old are free of charge. It was a pity there was no audio guide.
