The Brest fortress left an indelible impression. I've always wanted to visit there and get to know this legendary place better. The majestic monument to the defenders is stunning in its size. Schoolchildren keep a memory watch at the foot. Another monument embodies a soldier who, under bullets, draws water from a puddle with a helmet to bring it to his comrades. Museum staff constantly pour water into his helmet, and it serves as a kind of basin for flowers brought by people.
The guide will take you to different places of the fortress and tell you how selflessly the military unit that was here defended the fortress and about the heroes standing to the death in the face of the enemy horde.
There is an Orthodox church on the territory of the fortress, where you can go to pray and light a candle.
It took me two days to thoroughly inspect the fortress and fortified areas, where there is something to see.
Part of the story with its own atmosphere. From the very entrance, it sets you up for "immersion" in history and allows you to feel with your soul all the hardships that fell on the defenders of the fortress. Thanks to the wonderful guide Valeria Vyacheslavovna, it was possible to learn the main periods of the heroic defense of the Fortress in a short period of the tour. At the end of the tour, under the great impression of what we heard and saw, we walked around the fortress and its surroundings for almost 5 more hours. In my opinion, this is one of the places that everyone just NEEDS to visit.
The Brest Fortress Defense Museum is an amazing place that immerses us in the atmosphere of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War! Visiting the museum leaves an unforgettable impression and allows you to understand the historical significance of the events that took place in this place.
The museum's expositions are informative and well thought out. Visitors can see original objects from the war, photographs, documents and much more, which helps to feel the atmosphere of those difficult times. The exhibits tell about the heroism and steadfastness of the defenders of the fortress, about their feat and sacrifices.
In addition, the museum staff is always ready to help and answer any questions that arise, which creates a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The Brest Fortress Defense Museum is not only a place of memory and respect for those who gave their lives for their Homeland, but also an important source of knowledge about the history of the Great Patriotic War.
I recommend visiting the Brest Fortress Defense Museum to everyone, without fail!
