I do not advise anyone to take the exam at this center, since the speaking is conducted remotely and it is accepted by local residents who speak the language very poorly, who underestimate the grades. We flew from Russia to Astana to take IELTS UKVI and an ordinary IELTS Academic. The delivery center itself has been moved and is now located at a different address, in the Arman business complex. We were the first to take IELTS UKVI, and a native speaker took the speaking there, passed for 7. The next day, an ordinary IELTS Academic took the speaking, and the speaking took place remotely, they passed to a Kazakh woman who knew the language even worse than us, stammered and mumbled unintelligibly, headphones also began to work poorly in the middle of the test. In general, they passed for 6. Despite the fact that the other sections that were passed on the computer were 7-8. We read the reviews (why didn't we see them before, we wouldn't have gone to take them to this terrible center),- everyone complains about the understatement of speaking by semi-literate local hosts. We were lucky, people are being molded left and right by 5-5.5. Now we have to appeal, pay another 10 thousand. And we do not hope for an adequate review, since this center almost always refuses not to return the money. If they knew that such a mess was in this center, it would be better to go to Astana, but not to this British council, but to IDP. If you are flying from the Russian Federation, do not sign up for this terrible British consil, so as not to waste your energy, money and time.
I was very worried about this center, because I hadn't read a lot of reviews in advance
But everything went well!
The equipment is good, the Internet is stable
The staff is polite
They didn't fail at listening!
I liked everything
Yes, initially I didn't have a phone call.
And the speaking is live, but I was notified in advance
Therefore, there are no complaints
Specially planned a trip to
Kazakhstan to take the IELTS for submission of documents in the fall. On August 31, I wanted to fly back to Moscow from Astana, as work and study begin. I booked the exam for August 27th a month in advance. As a result, two days before the exam, when I am already in the country and all the tickets have been bought (and they are not cheap at all), my exam is simply canceled and offered to be rescheduled for free. And the nearest available date is only in September! This is outrageous. I did not expect this from such a respected organization.
Who will compensate me for the ticket price?
Accommodation?
If I stay, miss work and study, lose money for a ticket, who guarantees me that this situation will not happen again?
1 am speechless. It's just a nightmare.
