It is located in the city center, on Ataturk Street. It was built by Yildirim Bayezid, one of the Ottoman sultans, and completed in 1400. It is believed that the architect is Ali Neccar. Its ownership belongs to the General Directorate of Foundations.
There is a legend belonging to the construction of the mosque. According to the rumor; When Yildirim Bayezid was victorious in the battle of Nigbolu, he decided to build twenty mosques. When he came to Bursa, he told this idea to his son-in-law, Emir Sultan, and He recommended that a mosque with twenty domes be built instead of twenty mosques. The location of the mosque was also shown to Emir Sultan with a spiritual sign in his dream, and the next day, the location of the mosque was determined by seeing that the grass ended at this indicated place. The decision was notified to the Sultan, and the Sultan, considering this appropriate, initiated the construction of the mosque. The mosque was built with the booty goods won in the victory of Niğbolu.
In a word, you don't want to go in, you don't want to go out, you miss it when you go away, thank God a thousand thousand ablution in the fountain in the mosque and then drinking water is like being refreshed
A historical mosque should definitely be visited. There should be a visit to the covered bazaar and shopping around the mosque. If you go with your car, it may be difficult to find a parking space
May my Lord accept my prayers and your prayers, may Allah bless those who built a very beautiful mosque and a historical structure that has come to these days from those times
Bursa Ulu Mosque is a very beautiful historical mosque of ours. The spiritual environment is beautiful. I recommend that everyone who goes to Bursa should pray at the Grand Mosque in Bursa.
It is a magnificent masjid. A unique architectural masterpiece. There is a constant life integrated with its surroundings. If you want to perform Friday prayers indoors, I recommend that you leave an hour earlier.
Perfect history, peace of mind, if you go only with your car, it is very difficult to find a free place to put the car, even the streets are not paid or parked.
The spiritual atmosphere is magnificent, the bazaars around it are worth visiting. Bursa, which has not lost its old texture, is also one of the important places to visit.
