A pleasant place
Benches, sculptures. Nice people. Great views. Everything is photogenic and everything is worth exploring. It is very harmoniously combined with the local ziggurat.
Be sure to schedule a visit to this place. This is an important part of the architecture and image of Yerevan. Walking distance from the city center is 20 min.
It's the same in a taxi in traffic jams.
In Yerevan, in a landmark place for the city on the Cascade, the Art Center of Gafeschyan, an American philanthropist of Armenian origin, was opened in 2009. An underground tunnel with escalators and exits to the terraces of the Cascade stretches along the Cascade. Here, in the open air and in the halls of the tunnel, the exhibits of Gerard Gafeschyan's personal collection are displayed. There are works by artists from different countries, including Marc Chagall and Andy Warhol. Three sculptures were made by Colombian sculptor Fernando Botero ("Smoking Woman", "Cat", "Roman Legionnaire"), an openwork "Teapot" by Portuguese designer Joane Vasconcelos, a laughing man in a dog pose by Chinese artist Yue Minjun, and a lion made of tire scraps by Korean artist Ji Yong Ho. Two more sculptures were created by American figures: Robert Indiana — the letters "LOVE", Peter Wojtuk — blue kiwi. Three more were made by British sculptors: Tom Hill worked on two openwork horses, Martin Waller worked on divers, and David Breuer Weil worked on a sunken head in the center of one of the fountains.
Очень классное место - музей с видами на Ереван. Внутренние дворики с фонтанами - просто класс! Много интересных экспонатов в музее. Больше всего понравилась часть старого корабля и кристаллы Сваровски.
Очень атмосферное место.
