Cafe Carahunge Dilijan is a popular restaurant in Dilijan, Armenia, known for its delicious food and cozy ambiance. Customers have praised the quality of the dishes and the excellent service. It's not surprising that you're in love with this restaurant!
It's a great place. Delicious dishes: salads, lentil soup, chicken harissa, fish in the oven are cooked in the oven to order, better than in Sevan. Everything we ordered was delicious. Excellent atmosphere with rock art style decoration. There is a shop with merch, ceramics in the same style. There is a hall on the second floor with a view of the mountain, there is also a library. In November 2024, the waiter and the bartender were two boys who were attentive and did not screw up, perhaps not so experienced, but tried their best at everything. I advise everyone. In our opinion, the best place to eat in Dilijan.
A wonderful place, the most delicious lentil soup I've ever eaten. The prices are optimal, especially considering that there are places nearby with a lower level of service, but the same prices.
I'll start with the pros: 1. Interesting design. 2. availability of a library and a shop with books and souvenirs
Further disadvantages - there is no service (it takes a long time to wait, even when there are almost no guests), the kitchen is all that they can not cook on the grill. Salads are more or less.
The price does not match the quality. The prices are very high (much higher than in Yerevan, the quality is much lower).
The food leaves much to be desired, the potatoes and bacon were cooked for 40 minutes, and they ended up raw. The meat is so-so. The prices are sooo high. I wasn't comfortable(
It's not the first time we've come as a family. The previous times I put 5 stars. This time, the food, the service, and the boorish man at the bar spoiled the impression. First I ordered a Greek salad, Feta cheese had a strange taste. I ordered a chicken kebab with potatoes, they brought dried chicken and black potatoes. I tried potatoes - solid bitter coal. I didn't eat this dish, I waited for the waiter. But it is impossible to wait for the waiter, it is absolutely parallel to everyone that guests are sitting in the restaurant, no one comes up and asks how the guests are doing. I went by myself: the girl immediately agreed that the quality of the dish was unsatisfactory, apologized and offered to order something. She spoke indistinctly, but it seemed that a compliment was offered from the institution. I asked for cheesecake. When she brought the cheesecake, the girl said that she had removed the kebab from the bill. The cheesecake was hard, fresh from the freezer. After a while we asked for the bill. No one came up to us for 10 minutes, while the waiters at the bar just chatted and laughed. We approached ourselves and asked for the bill again, the waiter did not know which table we were sitting at. We were given an invoice, it became clear from the amount that the kebab was not removed from the bill, moreover, the cheesecake was included in the bill! The waiter behind the counter reluctantly removed the kebab from the bill, but about the cheesecake he began to convince me that I ordered it myself instead of the kebab. He started being rude to me: "we removed the barbecue from your bill, what else should I have done?". Well, actually, in normal establishments, after a poor-quality dish, the client is offered a treat as an apology. The word "service" is probably completely unfamiliar in this place. A spoiled dinner, an attempt to siphon money from a client who didn't eat anything delicious in this place, and continued rudeness even when it was already possible not to go to a confrontation with a frustrated client, so that he might come back and recommend this place to someone. And so, alas, no.
And by the way, plates should not be served in the hands of guests, but put on the table. This is something quite elementary.
I have never seen such disgusting service and cuisine in Armenia for many years, huge prices and very low quality, the day is overshadowed. Only fried mushrooms with onions were edible.
A very atmospheric place! starting from the bright facade and ending with the library on the 3rd floor (books in Armenian and English), my daughters and I were 1.8 and 8 years old. Children's books are very high quality. The kitchen is delicious! The feed is fast. The pork kebab was the most delicious we tasted in Armenia. The check is more expensive than the average, but it's worth it.
A very pleasant place: atmospheric interior, excellent staff, delicious food (local and European). Beautiful handmade tableware deserves special attention. All this together leaves the best impressions and a good mood from visiting this institution. If you are in Dilijan, be sure to visit here!
We were very pleased with this place. The interior is cool, the atmosphere is cozy. The staff speaks 3 languages, they show confident service, the portions are quite large and hearty, they cook very tasty, drinks in sufficient quantities to choose from. I would love to revisit it!)
The pork kebab was terrible, they brought solid fried fat (they took fillets), only a couple of pieces of meat from the total mass. These two small pieces were very tasty, the rest is unusable.
The lamb kebab is very tough. Both portions were very small, although they said that each was designed for two.
The Greek salad came with radishes, but that's okay. The cheese in it is clearly not feta, but like goat cheese, which greatly influenced the taste of the salad.
We chose this place according to numerous reviews, we left disappointed and hungry.
I ordered a pork kebab and a vegetable salad, the salad is difficult to spoil, but the tomatoes were unsweetened. Unfortunately, the barbecue was brought dry (it's a pity, because my friends recommended the place to me.
The pizza was delicious, the cakes were so-so. I think the price tag is too high here.

A gorgeous place! We had lunch and dinner in the end only here (we booked 4 cafes and decided not to take any more risks).
Large portions, very tasty, good service, interesting interior.
The kebab is amazing, although of course there is more fat than we would like.
In my opinion, the best place in the city
Excellent food and service, very pleasant landing both indoors and in the yard

Except for the interior, everything is terrible. The saying goes, the worse the cook cooks, the more polite the waiters should be. It is not possible to eat pork and lamb kebabs, the cook abused the meat for half an hour, but the waiters could not fix the terrible situation. We stopped by to have lunch with the guests and such a shame.
The barbecue is on fire, the wine cellar is beyond praise and I already thought that I would not find a better meal, but I went in for breakfast. Scrambled eggs and bacon are something.
