I really liked it! Good cuisine, varied menu, wide range of drinks. The staff is very polite and friendly, the service is fast. Very comfortable seats, you can accommodate six people. There is a summer porch facing directly onto the main pedestrian street of Brest. I highly recommend it!

It's a beautiful place. We came as tourists from Mogilev and made the right choice. It's cozy, the waiters are polite and have good knowledge of the menu information. The food looked delicious and was delicious. The location of the restaurant is great.

We came here for breakfast. Excellent prices, a very hearty breakfast and a nice bonus is a glass of sparkling wine. Lots of places, friendly staff. They also asked to charge the headphones and were able to help with this. In general, I definitely recommend it.

We visited this place yesterday.
The first negative. We booked a table for four people in advance so that we wouldn't have to look around the place for people we were supposed to meet for the first time. As a result, no one had booked a table, because the place was "full of empty tables and we can choose any one." Because of this, it turned out to be a rather unpleasant situation.
The second disadvantage. When dessert arrived, the waiter put a dirty knife in my hand. The dirt was visible, but the waiter did not see it even when she carefully placed it on a paper backing. Again, it's not a particularly pleasant situation.
The third disadvantage. Why put a sauce pan with sour cream on a plate with a dish (in my case, it was cheesecakes), in jam, which is used both as a decoration and as an addition? Considering that the knife was dirty, I'm not really sure about the cleanliness of this sauce pan, which is, damn, in a puddle of jam.
We chose this place only during our work, because we wanted to sit and chat longer and had heard about negative reviews regarding the service and cuisine.
Now let's think about whether it's worth visiting it again.

We visited the Carpe diem restaurant twice during our trip: first when we arrived in Brest, when we were looking for a place for dinner, and again before leaving. We liked the cozy atmosphere and the spacious hall with lots of seats. The food was excellent — we tried borscht, tongue and bruschetta, and all the dishes met expectations. Cocktails also deserve a special mention: they are especially pleasantly refreshing on hot August days. If I find myself in Brest again, I will definitely come here again. I recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good food and atmosphere.

Two stars only for the interior. The attitude towards the client is disgusting. I understand that there was an emergency on May 9th, but it would be possible to put on a smile on duty and say, sorry, we can't cope, wait 5 minutes. But instead, they almost send me at the entrance, they didn't tell me anything about the availability of a table. Only the departing guests suggested that the table they were sitting at was vacant. It's probably okay to wait 10 minutes for the menu there.
Two more tables followed us, and surprisingly only our table was ignored. Moreover, the neighboring one, where people came later, was served by the receptionist herself, seemingly helping at a busy time, but as it turned out, those guests forgot to reserve a table. It was interesting to watch the receptionist dancing around there, and me and the small children were waiting for the menu for 10 minutes, then the waiter, fortunately, at least the kitchen coped quickly.
The first request for comments was ignored. The second time, the administrator came to settle the situation and did it in a raised voice, as a result, leaving for a book, she turned around three meters away and threw a "have a nice day", and after calculating the snide question "was it delicious for us", it did not look like sincerity.
As for the cuisine, it's generally fine, the hodgepodge is very good, everything on the menu is great for children, and delicious. Meat dishes are not their specialty. The steak is too fried on the outside, the crust is slightly blackish even. The medallions were burned and covered with sauce.
I would like to mention Polina, the waiter, who was the only one who tried to smooth out the situation with their administrator and did her job really well and pleasantly.
Overall, the impression is bad, I do not recommend this place.

Disgusting service that neither the chefs of this establishment nor the city of Brest deserve!
I got the most unpleasant rude waitress.: at first I didn't go for 20 minutes, then I asked each of the guests for the order 4 times, talked through my lip, brought the receipt before we finished. When asked questions about the menu, she answered reluctantly. When asked to rearrange the dish for one guest, she ignored it and placed it in front of another. In short, this is a complete failure, I haven't seen such a service for a very long time, anywhere.
The receptionist/hostess also behaved very strangely. She also spoke through her lip, and left us as quickly as possible, as if she was in a hurry to get rid of us. I immediately went to another table, took their order, and talked to them for 10 minutes. It was as if she didn't like us in some way (naturally, we looked decent and behaved in a friendly and courteous manner).
The food is delicious. But with such service, the impression came to naught. Definitely, we do not recommend visiting unless you make sure that the staff has changed.

We only had breakfast at this place because we were staying at the Persia Hotel. And breakfast was included in the accommodation.
There are 2 sets to choose from for hotel guests: porridge, coffee/tea, orange/apple juice, cheesecakes/a plate with scrambled eggs, sausages, beans and salad. Everything is delicious and fresh,
The service is fast. The Manuk waiter is polite and attentive.

It's a beautiful cafe and it's located on the main street, the food is basically like everywhere else - a little salty, but you can eat: we ordered different dishes, not everyone liked it (a big company), but there were some good things. Maybe we were unlucky, because the toilet was being repaired in the cafe and we had to go through the whole shopping center to wash our hands, explain to the administrator in the toilet that "we are from the cafe and we don't need to take money from us" - such a thing... In short, you can go in-you won't stay hungry.

A very good city cafe. For a particular restaurant, there is a lack of some explicit idea in the interior or kitchen (one name is not enough). Unobtrusive, not kitsch, without pretensions. Extremely attentive staff. The dishes are delicious, not small. I liked that there is a good selection of smoothies, lemonades, milkshakes! You can sit down with a view of the pedestrian Sovetskaya. High sofas - you can't see the neighboring tables!

It was recently.
The place is pleasant, located in the center of Sovetskaya, easily accessible, lots of seats.
The atmosphere is pleasant, the music is not too quiet and not too loud, the interior is not too flashy, comfortable seats with cushions, which I really liked, you can adjust for yourself, there is also a summer terrace.
Prices are higher than in cafes, but also lower than in restaurants.
The staff is neatly dressed, well served 👍
The drinks and food are super, I'm just delighted, as far as I know all the dishes are made absolutely manually and sliced and sauces, up to and including mashed potatoes!
Pizza and pancakes are just fire, I really liked it, I also took different hot dishes a couple of times, too chic! They cook fast enough, despite the large number of guests, thanks to the chefs!
I recommend it, I'll be happy to come back myself🥰

They asked for the fastest dish. We recommended tartare and pasta - it will be ready in no more than 20 minutes. As a result, 20 minutes lasted 1.5 hours. We digested ourselves, and the hydrochloric acid we formed spat on everything around us. I don't recommend it, you've wasted your time.
