in an architectural monument with a rich history, it is worth visiting. But because it is located inside the old city, the roads were inconvenient, but now it is being renovated, I think the tourists will like it.
The madrasah is very interesting for its architecture. Its outlines are found on many plates and postcards both in Bukhara and throughout Uzbekistan. The madrasah is located a little away from the main street inside the city's housing stock, but it is definitely worth walking to it. The madrasa is not big at all, I would even say small. But its four minarets make it a gem of architecture. The minarets rise exactly at the four corners of the madrasah and the height of the minarets is about twice as high as the building itself. This makes them seem monumental. There is a nest with storks on one of the minarets, as a reminder that they settled here in ancient times. Very cool. The building is beautifully illuminated by night lighting and it is worth seeing it not only during the day but also in the evening. I definitely recommend not to miss this location.
This is an interesting historical landmark, which, as a native of these places, does not surprise me much, but for tourists visiting it for the first time, it will definitely become a vivid impression.
Chor Minor attracts with its unique architectural style — four minarets, each of which differs in its design, create a unique look. This place takes you back to the past, allowing you to feel the spirit of history and culture.
If this is your first time in Bukhara or you just love historical sites, Chor Minor is worth a visit. This is a great place to take photos and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the old town.
The hotel is located in the center, close to attractions. The room is clean, the bathroom and toilet are equipped with the necessary accessories.
The breakfasts are good.
The host and staff are friendly and kind.
The architectural monument Chor Minor (four towers) was built in 1807. The original portal of the large madrasah complex is the only one that has survived to this day. Each tower has an original design. Storks have been nesting on the minarets for a long time, now a sculpture on one of the towers reminds of this. In 1995, one tower was destroyed and restored under the auspices of UNESCO. A pleasant young man prepares delicious coffee nearby. You can walk to the madrasah on foot, from the Lyabi Hauz square 10-15 minutes by walking along narrow original streets.
The stunning, mesmerizing beauty and grandeur of the ancient buildings will take you back to the days of the Silk Road, merchants, travelers and visitors of the city. Everything around is just saturated with that spirit and beauty.
I visited with the guidebook and told everything in detail, since it is not possible to perceive and remember everything at once and a lot of information at once.
Our family liked everything, we are delighted with the trip to Uzbekistan
A nice and beautiful building, even now. In its original state, the building was significantly more richly decorated, but much was lost during the Soviet years, fortunately, after undergoing restoration, the building surprises with its beauty.
The madrasah is unusual in architecture. If you have time, I recommend visiting. We took a taxi for 10-15 minutes through some back streets. Despite the deep evening, there were quite a lot of visitors - namely Russians.
Good coffee on the contrary, the Madrasah itself looks good, you can go inside.
There are also a large number of rare souvenirs that will really be difficult to find anywhere else.
It is very beautiful and unusual. There are many tourists from far abroad. We will go up to the roof for a fee-about 20 thousand sums. The roof offers a beautiful view of the surrounding houses of old Bukhara.
As for me, it is a masterpiece of architecture from the point of view of aesthetics. It is a pleasure to view the building, especially at night. The building is decorated with four towers, while each tower is decorated in a special way, that is, the patterns are not repeated. There's a store inside the building, but we didn't get there, and we didn't want to.
A beautiful mosque, but we got there with difficulty because it was dug around, we barely found it. In general, it is a very beautiful place, away from the road, in the greenery, in the evening there was a backlight
It smells ancient. There's a bit of a lack of maintenance around. But this is the norm for Uzbekistan. Compared to the 2000s, of course, it is much better.
A very beautiful madrasah. But the most that hooked us was the flea market in front of him. It took 10 minutes to get to the mosque and we spent an hour or an hour and a half picking through the junk. It will consume anyone. Thank God we don't have any luggage, we would have left there without a port😂
A stunning historical building, on the roof of which you can climb and take cool photos. Previously, it was a complex with several other buildings around, but only the house (pool) remained
Beauty, we lived in a guest house next to Chor Minor. In front of the mosque there is a shop "back to the USSR" badges, ashtrays, dishes, a forge and many other things from my Soviet childhood
It's a pretty madrasah, quite unlike any other in Bukhara. It's tiny, like an overturned baby stool. It stands in a recess, which shows how much the cultural layers have grown. I recommend you to visit it, it is one of the symbols of Bukhara.
The building of the madrasah is located a little away from the main attractions of Bukhara-but it is worth taking the time to explore it. Non-standard architecture, beautiful shapes. The sculptures of storks on one of the towers look cute. Nearby there are shops with interesting souvenirs, including those that evoke nostalgia (Soviet times).
The walking path leads through narrow courtyards, immersing in the atmosphere of a medieval city, as if from a fairy tale about Aladdin
It turned out to be very small . Due to the dug-up streets and difficult to access) I hope construction work on the surrounding streets will be completed soon.
A madrasah with a shop inside, just like everywhere else.
For 15,000 soums (~115 rubles), you can go upstairs.
The view is not wow, you won't lose anything without getting up)
There is a bottle opener nearby and you can drink coffee from the vending machine.
On June 22 and 23, 2024, I visited this place, it is located on the sidelines, it was the last place of our excursion, it is authentic, it is interesting to listen to how history changed its appearance. I returned here on the second day, sat in the shade on a bench, very beneficial, quiet, calm. Recommend. There's nothing to see inside, there's a store, just outside.
It is necessary to visit Bukhara - it is a magical , fabulous city ! Chor Minoa (four minarets) is a madrasah, which is the hallmark of the city , a very small , pleasant courtyard with a pond next to it. Unfortunately, if you look into Bukhara for just one day, it will not be shown, it is included in the excursion program of the second day.
Not all tourist groups are lucky enough to visit Chor Minor!
Therefore, it was decided to independently see this unique attraction of Bukhara at sunset.
I definitely recommend you to visit.
And a little secret is not for everyone:
you can ask the merchants inside for permission and climb up to the roof of the madrasah for just 5,000 soums and see not only the classrooms where classes were held, but also admire the beauty of the sunset and the surroundings of Chor Minor!
A miniature, almost toy-like madrasah. There is a certain charm in it, like bonsai. It is located among residential buildings. Away from the main attractions. Finding it is a separate adventure. They let you on the roof for a small fee.
Only these 4 turrets and the gate part of the arch at the corners of which they are located remain from the entire madrasah. You can climb up to the roof, touch them with your hands. 30 minutes for this object is the maximum that is needed. Interesting, beautiful. It's worth coming in to see.
Interesting, unusual. They let you in for 15,000. It's worth going, there are not many places where you can touch everyday life like that (in what conditions you lived). It looks like 4 phalanges from the outside)
As follows from the history, the building was built by some merchant. The latter decided to build a la Taj Mahal in Uzbekistan. It turned out not even remotely reminiscent. There are minarets on four sides. There is a souvenir shop inside. There's not much to see. Entrance to one of the minarets is paid 20,000 soums via a spiral staircase. I didn't go. Since there's nothing to see there. My eyes couldn't stop at something interesting and unique. The building is made of brick, like many others in the area. There is no observation deck. And the height is about 12-15 meters. The building was chosen as one of the places where you can take tourists and earn baksheesh from them. In terms of historical value and beauty, my subjective rating is 3 out of 5. Located in the center of a residential development. I recommend visiting only when there is nowhere else to go, without a guide, without going to the minaret.
The Chor Minor Madrasah, this is the only gate preserved from that institution. It was built at the beginning of the XIX century.
The architecture is unusual, the 4 minarets of the building are covered with blue lead tiles. The library used to be on the second floor, now it is empty. There is an opportunity for tourists and visitors to climb up. It is located inside the block, near the Khoja Tabband Mosque.
The inconvenience is that the building is located lower than the block itself, which causes flooding in winter
A beautiful historical building,
Inside, there is only a souvenir shop downstairs.
You can go upstairs for 15 thousand.
There are no particularly preserved historical sites upstairs
The original architecture rightfully makes this madrasah one of the business cards of the city. The place deserves a visit, but... I understand that Bukhara is a trading city, but when almost every historical building sells all sorts of junk, it gets boring...
Stunning beauty, Chor minor from Tajik or Persian means Four minarets. It is a complex of buildings in the continuation of the madrasah. It is located in holy Bukhara.
