All rooms have sea views, are spacious and comfortable enough
The food is for 4, there is no seafood as such
The staff is wonderful, very polite and always ready to help.
The pool is large, but not deep, about one and a half meters.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, local residents come to the hotel, which is why there may be few empty seats in the restaurant, and wi-fi stops working normally
Convenient location for visiting excursions
We had a rest at this hotel before the New Year.We arrived at the airport
Matalla , we got to the hotel by private transfer , found the best price offer .I liked the hotel itself with its ocean view, delicious food, and friendly staff. There were waves all the time, but they didn't stop us, we rode them with pleasure.I really liked the Christmas dinner, there was a lot of food and it was very beautiful. The only downside was that alcohol was at dinner for an additional fee.I would like to single out the chef, who always listened to our opinion and took into account our wishes, the most wonderful waiter Roshana, and the guys bartenders by the pool, I will also post their photos. We were picked up at 7.10 am, and what upset us very much was that we arrived 10 minutes before the restaurant opened and were not allowed in, although they saw that we were leaving. On other days, we walked early in time without any problems. Also, there is no bottled water in the restaurant or at the reception, if you want to take it on the road, stock up in advance .I also really want to recommend a divine massage, Chan drove us , his phone number is listed above .The massage was done in different countries , there is something to compare it with .The massage cost $ 10 per hour, I must say this is not a spa salon, but it was the quality of the massage that was important to me.It was perfect. In the same place where the massage was , you could buy medicines and oils , you could bargain for the price, I will attach the address of the masseur to the photo .I recommend the hotel, the food is very tasty, the room was cleaned regularly and even bouquets of flowers were placed for us.They also helped at the reception and settled where they asked.I caught Wi-Fi everywhere .
Great hotel. It is one of the five best hotels on the island. A quiet place. The staff is friendly. The rooms are clean, cleaning every day.Shampoos, gels, and dental supplies are changed every day. The ocean is gorgeous. The beach is municipal. As for food, in principle there is everything, seafood, chicken, pork, beef, vegetables, fruits. They grill shrimp and make carbonara pasta with you . But be careful, 50% of the food is spicy!!! And pay close attention when ordering at the bar!!! There are drinks not included in the All inclusive, which would avoid additional eviction. Bills!!! If you are going on an excursion, I recommend taking a tour from a local guide, he will find you himself when you go to the beach))) . We went with an official guide and then took a tour from a local, I did not see a difference, only in price, the official price is much more expensive, more precisely 2 times. Although the official guide scares that it is a risk to take a tour from a local, etc. I repeat, I went with a local, the level of security is no different.
Those who go to Sri Lanka for the first time keep in mind the sun there is not the same as in Turkey, Egypt, take 50+ sunscreen, or better 70+ because everything else that is below 50 is just not worth it, burn 100%))) You can even sunbathe there in the shade. And I advise you to make local Calypso rum from alcohol, cool, you can only buy it in official alcohol supermarkets, well, like markets))) lorki))) it costs 5,500 rupees. Enjoy your stay.
Review about Citrus waskaduwa:
1. Rooms: all with ocean views, we had a superior: a large bed, sofa, wardrobe, refrigerator, safe, large bathroom with shower and toilet, balcony with two chairs. The rooms require light cosmetic repairs, as there are scuffs somewhere, but overall good. The only thing worth fixing is the cleanliness in the shower, it leaves much to be desired.
The room includes 1 foot towel, 1 towel per person, 1 set of gel, shower, lotion, shower cap, soap. Everything else, slippers, extra towels, a set of gel must be requested at the reception. Towels are changed every 3 days.
Room cleaning is good, bed linen, towels, etc. will be changed for a tip.
Wi-Fi works, but it's best at night. It doesn't load well during the day.
2. All meals are included. Includes breakfasts, lunches and dinners. There are no snacks between them. There is a cooking workshop once a day, but this is purely symbolic entertainment.
There is enough food, it includes European (pasta, potatoes, fried eggs, pizza) and local (spicy and spiced) dishes. There is little variety of seafood: deep-fried fish, a mixture of seafood (fish, squid and something else), small shrimp, small crabs. A large number of desserts, delicious ice cream, fruits were: watermelons, pineapple, papaya.
Drinks: juices, smoothies (milkshakes - banana, mango, strawberry), water, coffee, tea, beer, spirits, simple alcoholic cocktails. I am attaching the menu.
On request, a lunchbox is provided (cheese sandwiches, sausages, egg, fruit, croissants, sweet pastries, water).
If you plan to buy something for your money, then prices are generally the same as in Moscow: juices for 300 rubles, French fries for 500 rubles, stuffed cuttlefish for 800 rubles.
3. Beach: public, but there are sun beds from the hotel. The descent is sharp, the waves are big. Someone is boldly swimming nearby, someone is just wetting their feet.
4. Pool: large, maybe a little dirty in some places, but the water is clean and warm. It works from 7 to 19 o'clock, after that the water is cleaned.
There are sun beds around. In November, there were enough sun beds for everyone, the pool was not crowded. There is a bar nearby. They gave out beach towels.
5. Territory: large, well-groomed, clean. But basically all the entertainment is in one place near the bar and the beach, there is nothing to do in the rest. You will not meet super exotic animals, only: birds, lizards, frogs, snails.
6. Entertainment: beach, swimming pool, master class on cooking local food, table tennis (but it is impossible to play it, it stands outside in a stuffy and humid place where there are a lot of mosquitoes at any time of the day), aqua aerobics, music by the pool, live music in the evening until midnight (performances by cover bands, DJs, karaoke).
There is a spa, but at prices from 2500 rubles for half an hour.
7. Staff: lovely and smiling! He speaks only English, but always tries to help in any situation.
* We went in the middle of November, it rained from 5-6 pm and all night. Small, did not interfere.
We are currently staying at this hotel. I want to leave a full review. The hotel is cool, the room has everything you need (shampoo, gel, brushes, paste, shower caps, bathrobe, towels, slippers, water, tea, sugar, coffee, refrigerator, mugs and kettle). Cleaning is regular, the staff is very friendly. We did not regret that we have "all inclusive", there are no cafes and restaurants nearby, as in Thailand. There is a fish restaurant on site, you can order shrimp, lobster, crab, etc. I really liked that while sunbathing on the beach, the hotel staff offers drinks (beer, gas. water, cocktails, smoothies), brings glasses and takes them away. There are always free sun beds on the beach, there are not many people, it does not bother. In the restaurant, breakfast-lunch-dinner is also quiet, and water will be brought and wine will be poured, the plates will be taken away. The service is good. The food selection is varied.
The ocean, yes, there are always waves, but this is the ocean. We always swim, it's fun to jump on the waves, it's impossible to take the child away. We bought a circle, and the ride is cool, and it takes us ashore on the waves. I don't understand people who come to the ocean and swim in the pool.
In the evenings, there is live music on the lawn near the restaurant, you can sit, drink, and order seafood at the tables.
Relaxation is provided.
I confirm about the beach Rasik, he is friendly, we went on an excursion with him. He can arrange any transfer (for fruit, tuk-tuk, to the store, to the other beach).
The hotel is mesmerizing with its ocean view. Nice lawn, clean beach, super palm trees.
Everything else is cons. The hotel is not exactly 5 stars.
Sun beds and mattresses are not wiped by the staff, you need to put a mattress on yourself every morning. Towels are given out on the sun beds, but they are all terribly faded!
The rooms need to be renovated. They are poorly cleaned.
There are two types available: for breakfast and all inclusive) at breakfast they give two bottles of water to the room, everything else is a minus! Water is always provided free of charge in any quantity!
The bar is very expensive and everything tastes terrible.
Fortunately, there is a Lobster cafe nearby. The only normal place within walking distance for lunch, dinner.
There is nothing outside the hotel, you need to call tuktukers.
A wonderful hotel, the service is very decent. Restaurant: the cuisine is sometimes a little harsh, but you can always find an alternative. Delicious desserts. Cleaning on a solid 5. Of the nuances, insects can fly in the room (local features) coped quickly. The pool is warm and clean. The staff is very helpful. The language of communication is English. The only disadvantage is that the hotel is far from civilization. There is no place to walk outside the hotel.
I really liked the location of the hotel, its remoteness, the beach is empty.)The first impression was not very good, to put it mildly, especially the lawn, which was completely burnt out, covered with bald spots, since it was practically not properly watered, in pieces, where the hose would stretch).
The hotel rooms are tired, hardly 4 stars), the bed is comfortable, daily cleaning, the staff is very friendly, willing to help, the food is normal, nothing supernatural, monotonous, you can eat, the coffee is disgusting). Gradually, the eye gets blurred on the shortcomings and in general, we had a nice time), maybe even come back here.
We rested in this hotel from 20.11 to 11/29/24.
For 5 ku, it does not pull from the word at all, 4---, they let local people into the territory, hold corporate parties of local companies, the guys drink at these events no worse than ours, then they lie under palm trees, the spectacle is so-so.
The food is spicy, the choice is not very diverse, children do not swim in the ocean, very strong waves all the time.
They are trying to maintain the housing stock for the dead.
The hotel is "well, like a five." Overall, the hotel is good: there's good food, very cool desserts (to put it mildly! If you lose weight, don't even go near a hot dessert with ice cream!), normal alcohol (you can and should take ai). All rooms have ocean views, very beautiful. The beach is empty. For us, this was the main thing in choosing.
Further. Good and colorful staff, they meet even dissatisfied customers halfway, they are very happy with children and allow them everything. They can speak any language, even with gestures. Their English, however, is very poor, so who speaks only the great and mighty on vacation - no worries! There is no difference. Live music in the evening every day: mostly covers from local bands, but quite to yourself.
What is tolerable for us and who will like it: the hotel is very old and specifically shabby (rooms), a small pool and it is alone. Therefore, when Lankans come to the hotel with their families on weekends (they do this), it's a little cramped. Strong waves (who knows how: it's safe and fun, there is no tightening current. But it's scary at first).
Which is just bad: around. The village of Vaskaduwa is a real hole, everything is very poor, you can't go anywhere on foot, dirt and tuk-tukers with their harassment and trade (yes, this is a flavor, but not mine at all). There is no sign of moped rental: to go somewhere is a taxi or a tuk-tuk for a lot of money.
I really liked the hotel, we were on October 1, 2024, the food was delicious, the alcohol was local, the excursions were ordered from Rasik from the beach, everything went very well
The view from the window and the friendly staff, that's all about this hotel. 5* it's just a bathrobe and slippers, the rest is 3-4 * pulls.
Room: cozy, large. The mattresses are comfortable. There is a minibar, a kettle with coffee (nescafe powder), tea, sugar, and a safe. TV - there are no Russian channels. Bathroom: there is a glass door to the shaft in every bathroom on the floor and the audibility there is excellent, there are all toiletries except hair conditioner. Towels: 2 large and 2 20*20 face wipes. Cleaning consisted of rearranging the bedding. A piece of paper fell near the bedside table, and it lay there for 10 days, as well as a bag of slippers. There was no change of bed linen. The towel was changed 1 time and only large ones. But he took the money regularly! Pool: not deep, clean, but the area around the pool was hosed down 1 time in 10 days.(the rain will wash the rest), the deck chairs are old wooden. There are a few 80 pieces, and 50 mattresses on them, so it is advisable to take up space at 6 a.m., you also need to drag the mattresses from under the canopy yourself (which also does not pull at 5 * in any way). There are a lot of local people who bathe in clothes, which are then dried on all the railings. And the crows!!! Their cawing was deafening.
Alcohol and juices are quite good for themselves, it's great that beer is poured into beer mugs that are stored in the refrigerator. There is not much choice on AL, the rest is paid. On the day of arrival, we were 15 minutes late for lunch, and the next meal is only at 19.00 and there is nothing in the break. only for a fee. We bought 2 burgers for 5,000 rupees, waited an hour. There is only one restaurant, which also does not pull at 5* in any way. You won't starve to death. There are a lot of spicy dishes. There is no children's table, from the word at all. Shrimp or crabs daily (sometimes also very spicy). Fruits: pineapple, papaya, watermelon and some kind of green, tasteless thing. In the last 2 days, fried eggs were not fried for breakfast. They don't pour coffee for breakfast, and you can't even call this drink coffee.
The overall impression is good, but we bought a 5* tour (we were in 5* in Sri Lanka that year and I know what I'm talking about), and this hotel pulls for 4. We asked this question to the hotel guide Anex tour, who, by the way, invited us to a nearby hotel for the first meeting, where he introduced us only to excursions. We were asked to write a claim on the letterhead to replace the hotel. The form was delivered to us in 6 days! There was no point in changing it anymore. but when I texted her that I wanted to go on a tour, she showed up an hour later. That's the impression this hotel left us, but the ocean smoothed out all the negatives! It was warm and relatively calm.
We had a rest at the end of January, the suite is nice, clean and spacious. Daily cleaning for 5+, all hygiene products, bathrobes and slippers. Spacious bathroom with Jacuzzi and ocean view. Dressing room, safe, loggia. Kettle, water, tea, coffee, cream and sugar daily. The food in the restaurant is very diverse, there is also diet food, meat of different types, desserts. The territory is well maintained, everything is green, ibises are walking, beautiful lighting in the evening. I recommend it!
This trip was great for me! The hotel is 4+, the food is normal, the wine is Italy, although in boxes, but it's delicious and my head doesn't hurt! I enjoyed the waves like a little kid!) Kostya is 42 years old)
We arrived a week ago. In general, about the hotel, the territory is clean, the pool is warm, the sun beds are decent, everyone had enough, no need to get up at 7 a.m. to occupy. The food is mostly spicy or very spicy, it is problematic to feed children. Shrimp on a regular basis (lunch and dinner) the first 2 types, who are not picky about food, are quite happy to eat. Desserts, ice cream, fruits always. We had All the drinks so the rum was good, the mango smoothie too, the only one mixed with milk. The ocean is always swollen, so for an amateur, but very warm. The rooms were cleaned well, but there is a nuance in the bathroom because there is no extractor hood, there is a mine behind the glass, and everyone who, according to your riser, so let's say Everything to hear what you are doing is of course a horror, especially when the Chinese, she is past the fact that they are noisy, get up at 5 am and start blowing their nose, etc. There is no isolation at all, there is a railway road nearby, everything is also audible, and this is in all rooms. You can't walk outside the territory, a pile of garbage, immediately a monitor lizard comes out, immediately a tuk tuk flies, in a word, Asia.
The worst hotel in Sri Lanka! I ruined my mood for a few days, I had to leave earlier for 2-3 days (((The hotel is very tired, it needs repair for a long time. The staff depends on the shift because they were rude when checking in, they didn't respond to requests at all, they left tips for luggage, so they also asked from above - arrogance. The area is not at all for tourists - it's a village, there's nothing nearby!

A controversial place to stay. The hotel is located in the village, there is nowhere to go out. The food is more Indian than European. The hotel staff is friendly and ready to help. If you stay at this hotel, ask for a room away from the pool and on the 3rd floor (on the 2nd floor in the English manner). I lived on the 3rd floor and there was a buzz above me, I was saved constantly in earplugs. The hotel says that it is 4 stars, but it is a maximum of 3+, but not 4. I will not go to this hotel anymore.
The hotel is great, but if you go to it, then take everything included. Alcoholic drinks are soooo expensive in Sri Lanka, and the hotel is even more expensive. We took breakfast and dinner , we were satisfied , every day there were shrimps , crabs , fish and just meat .
The rooms were cleaned every day , all the staff are very friendly)
We were in May - there were waves , but in the morning they were quieter , so we swam every morning . If you are not afraid of water, then you can move 20 meters from the shore, opposite the swing, and there is a 60-80cm shoal where you can happily jump on the waves at any time of the day)
We recommend you to visit .
Very nice hotel, all rooms with ocean views, cleaning every day, bathrobe, slippers, everything is there, friendly staff, the territory is small, the beach is public, the pool is clean, the food is delicious
We vacationed with my husband in this hotel for 12 days in December 2023.The hotel is great, we lived on the ground floor, away from the pool and the bar, and we are very happy about that, because from the first floor there is immediately access to the territory and to the ocean. The territory is well maintained, the rooms are large and comfortable. The buffet is just a separate story. The coast is perfect, compared even with the neighboring hotels. We highly recommend this hotel, we were very satisfied
The food in the hotel is so-so, the most ordinary, there is a cool restaurant "Lobster" near the hotel. There are local guides on the beach, I recommend a wonderful man named Jamal. I took him on an excursion to the city of Ella, showed him everything, took photos on the train.
The staff at the hotel is friendly, the rooms are cool, the territory is beautiful and well-groomed, cleaned every day.
The hotel as a whole is not bad, if you look at the neighboring ones. The infrastructure is not bad, the food we had was only breakfast included, in general there is enough choice. But from day to day, it doesn't change much. That's what disappointed the service more. In general, it is also tolerable, but you mostly need to ask yourself to change towels, or something else. + there is a feeling that tips are expected for every action. And baseball didn't even hesitate, we have an average of $ 2-3 here) at the same time, I planned to carry it myself, the suitcase was almost pulled out of my hands. + a friend in the next room (left his wallet on the table in the room) , as they saw - $ 100
Not a bad hotel, but definitely not 5. Last year we were in another hotel (4) liked it more.In general, the food is not bad, the rum is excellent, the weather is super, even if the prices of our tour operators are more adequate.I won't dissuade you, but I won't go anymore.
The room is very large. The staff is friendly. The pastels were changed every day. The bed is huge!clear. The food is peculiar. You won't stay hungry for sure, but you have to be careful with seasonings and immediately understand that this is not Turkey. There is no variety and quantity.
The food is varied, but mostly spicy, with curry, there is not much fruit, but you will not stay hungry. The rooms are quite tired. The socket and some of the fixtures did not work. The walls are stained. The second towel was brought the third time, the hair dryer the second time. There is no outlet for a hair dryer in the bathroom. Entrance doors with poor noise insulation. Trains passing nearby are very audible at night.
The hotel is certainly not a 5 star hotel. The rooms are tired, the beach towels are torn, the animation is dead... Every day, different people sing the same songs, and you're about to fall asleep... The kitchen is a separate conversation, there seems to be a lot of food...but all the overcooked peppers are so much that you have no idea what you're eating. They don't know how to cook, at breakfast one cook asked another how to fry eggs (((. Upon arrival home, with tears of happiness, he ate ordinary pasta so that it cracked behind his ears. The hotel is all inclusive, but on the bar it turns out that only beer, two types of vodka and rum are included... Juices despite the fact that the country is tropical, only Upi are chemical .... fresh only for a fee. The hotel is located far from all the sights to Sigeria, for example 410 km to the sea without waves 200 km. It is not recommended to visit!
It's not 5* as stated, neither the food, nor the location, nor the animation, nor the repairs, nor the maintenance deserve 5*. Objectively: torn towels, peeling chairs, from which the exposed parts of the body are covered in paint, the staff is polite but intrusive, they took the plate when you're still eating, you can't wait for water or wine) they could take clean towels and a bathrobe, and leave nothing in return. Drinking water can only be obtained from 10 o'clock. Freshly squeezed juice is only for money, although there are plenty of fruits. Only chemical drinks are free. Everything is bad with cooking: the food is varied, but not tasty. Seafood is rubbery, chicken and fish are dry, you can't chew beef, and pork is difficult to cut even with a knife. In two weeks at the hotel, we ate two delicious tuna sashimi and fish. The animation is dead. 3.5 songs every day and from distant forgotten years. There is no territory in the hotel at all. Swimming pool and lawn in front of the restaurant. We really liked Sri Lanka, but not this hotel. The five with all-inclusive meals should still cover all these needs.
A calm, quiet hotel. Almost no one comes with children. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the city and just want to lie on a sunbed, then this is the most suitable place. The ocean with adequate waves (was in early April) the bottom is clean sand shallow. You can jump on the waves, you can try to surf. The food is mostly spicy, I don't like that kind of food. I had to choose food for myself, but everything is delicious.
Excellent hotel, friendly staff is always ready to help. The cuisine is excellent, it is impossible to try it in 9 days. All rooms have a sea view. The animals in the room are not a minus, they are realities. Reed switches prey on insects.
The hotel is cool, the staff is polite, the food is delicious. We went on excursions with the guys from the beach and liked everything. We drove to kalutara every evening. 100 rubles. We walked there
The hotel is 3-4, but not 5, the plus of this hotel is that all rooms overlook the ocean and there is no need to pay extra for the view from the balcony, as in neighboring hotels. Those who decide to visit it, take breakfast and dinner or all inclusive, find a place to eat nearby, it's oh-oh-a very big problem, and paying extra on the spot for lunch or dinner is expensive, in November 23, we paid 10,000 rupees for two for food + alcohol to this amount, which is three times more expensive than in the store.
Once there was a five. Now it is a very tired hotel. Well, the service. He's three stars in the jump. In my opinion, the owners are squeezing the last of the object. It's dirty. The baseboards are falling off. Half of the outlets are not working. You can't change the number - if you're Russian, you'll live where they say. The request is answered that there are no rooms, however, local residents are accommodated on the upper floors. The food is the same every day. In short, I don't recommend it.
A very beautiful hotel, with great functionality. Russian Russian is a pity that they do not want to speak Russian at the reception, although the chefs and other staff communicate tolerably well in Russian.
