Great hotel. Good location. Comfortable rooms. Polite staff. There is a spa area, a fitness room, and a swimming pool. I liked the breakfasts. Not far from Istanbul Mall. I stay here every year. I recommend.
Delta Hotels Istanbul West is located in the west of Istanbul and until last year operated under the Courtyard brand, being the only representative of this brand in Istanbul. At the moment, there are no Courtyard hotels left in Istanbul. The cost of accommodation at Delta Hotels Istanbul West has certain fluctuations, taking into account demand and advance booking. At the same time, the hotel competes with the Residence Inn (Asian part of the city) for the title of the most affordable hotel in Istanbul from the Marriott portfolio. The cost of a year's stay at Delta Hotels Istanbul West is usually in the range of 56€-71€ excluding taxes and fees, reaching 90€-100€ on some rare dates.
The low cost of accommodation is determined, among other things, by the location of Delta Hotels Istanbul West on the western outskirts of Istanbul behind the O7 bypass highway, which skirts the city to the west and north. The distance from Istanbul New Airport (IST) to the hotel is 35 km and due to good transport accessibility, it can be reached by taxi in 30-40 minutes. Of the outlets relatively close to the hotel, 212 Outlet can be mentioned, located about 3 km from Delta Hotels Istanbul West on the inside of the O7 bypass. The nearest Kirazli Metro Station is about 3.5 km away and it will take about 40 minutes on foot.
The lobby of the hotel is not very large and includes reception desks, a lobby bar, waiting areas and a small self-service store. The 18-storey building is serviced by three elevators, which worked flawlessly.
Having repeatedly stayed at Delta Hotels Istanbul West, I managed to stay in all available room types, except suites with kitchens. The Deluxe King/Twin Guest Rooms are the basic rooms of the hotel and are available on all residential floors. The windows of these rooms overlook the exterior facade of the building. The difference, as follows from the description, consists in the type of beds: one large double bed or two single beds. Superior King/Twin Guest Room rooms overlook the interior facade of the building, have slightly larger dimensions compared to the base room and the location of the beds in the direction of the window. The size of the Superior room is stated as 30 sq. m. The size of the Deluxe rooms is slightly smaller. At the same time, the contents of the rooms are identical. At the entrance on the right there is a standard bathroom with a vertical shower, toilet and one sink. On the wall to the left of the room entrance there is a wardrobe, a work desk with an armchair and a TV stand. On the left side of the work surface there is a stand with a coffee machine, a kettle and necessary accessories, as well as bottles with free and paid water. The main part of the room is occupied by a double bed with bedside tables on both sides of it. In the Deluxe King Guest Room rooms, a similar bed is turned towards the wall. And the Twin rooms have two fairly wide one-and-a-half beds with one bedside table between them. The suite consists of two standard rooms connected by an internal interior passage. At the same time, each of them also has a separate entrance from the corridor. Thus, in the case of a One Bedroom Suite, you get two room keys, and in the case of a Two Bedroom Suite, as many as three. For example, as in one of my last settlements. The area of the standard suite is stated as 55 sq. m., respectively, the area of the two-bedroom suite is about 85 sq. m. There are two bathrooms in the suite and they are similar to any other bathrooms in Delta Hotels Istanbul West.
Breakfast at Delta Hotels Istanbul West is served from 6:30 to 10:00 on weekdays and from 6:30 to 10:30 on weekends at the Ground Floor restaurant. The staff checks the room numbers at the entrance. As a member of the Marriott Bonvoy with Platinum status, I was entitled to a complimentary breakfast at the restaurant. There are various seating options, as well as a small outdoor terrace. The assortment offered for breakfast is placed on several island layouts. On the central one there are heated marmites with a standard set of hot dishes. The adjacent display shows a salad bar, an assortment of cuts, fruits and yogurts. Near the entrance to the restaurant there is a counter with bread products, jam and oriental sweets. There is a coffee machine with disgusting powdered milk for making hot drinks, so you won't be able to make normal coffee here. That's why I mostly drank Turkish tea. There is also a vending machine with artificial juices. The only Live Station served a variety of egg dishes, as well as pancakes, which were quickly disassembled. On request, I was also served a kind of Benedict by putting poached eggs on thick slices of bread. It turned out so-so. In addition, a complimentary order of freshly squeezed juices is available for elite Marriott Bonvoy program participants, which are available for other guests at an additional cost.
The spa at Delta Hotels Istanbul West is located on the 1st floor and is open from 9:00 to 22:00 daily. The Spa and the entire Health Club are managed by the Navitas Spa operator. Towels can be obtained at the Spa reception desk, as well as drinks can be purchased. There is also a relaxation area with sofas. Cleanliness is poorly monitored here and, apparently, cleaning is not even carried out every day. Opposite the changing rooms and showers there is a passage to massage rooms, sauna and hammams. The shared steam room has never worked with me, and individual hammams are used only as part of Spa complexes. The Spa reception also provides access to the indoor pool, which has sun beds and an inoperable Jacuzzi. You need a cap to visit the pool, and the staff keeps an eye on it. There is also a spacious but poorly equipped 24-hour fitness room.
In conclusion, I would like to say that despite the change in signage, there have been no significant changes compared to Courtyard, and I can assume that the hotel hardly fully reflects the concept of the Delta Hotels brand. The opportunity for high-status guests to have a complimentary snack during the day is an undoubted advantage, but the hotel has not yet decided on the set of dishes included in this offer. In general, the hotel does not represent anything outstanding. Neither the location away from the city center, nor the average condition of the hotel, nor the breakfasts are impressive, while being at a fairly good level. The indisputable advantage of Delta Hotels Istanbul West is the rather attractive cost of accommodation, which is often the lowest among the hotels in the Marriott portfolio in Istanbul.
