For more than 50 years, work has been carried out on the basis of this facility, which is essentially a "living scientific laboratory", to acclimatize introduced tree and shrub species to the conditions of Northern Kazakhstan. As a result of long-term study of introducents for adaptive ability to new conditions, breeds are selected for various purposes: the use of introducents in protective afforestation (garden and protective forest strips, fixing slopes, ravines, etc.), landscaping of cities, towns and other settlements with decorative trees and shrubs, to create green areas, introduction into plantation crops, forest reproduction, etc.
