The legendary Estadio da Luz Stadium, with a capacity of 65,647 thousand spectators, means "stadium of light" in Portuguese. Built in 2000, it was officially opened on October 25, 2003 with a football match with the national team. The size of the stadium's football field is 105×68 meters.
