I really liked the museum. Houses and utensils were moved, as well as the surroundings of houses of the 9th-18th centuries from different places in Georgia were recreated. So far, there are not so many restored houses that you can go inside - 5-6. Each one has a guide who tells about the history of these houses and the way of life of the people who lived in them. They are very friendly, they will additionally answer about the subjects of interest and customs, if you did not have enough information told. The only disadvantage is that it is inconvenient to get there, you need to go by car or taxi, or walk along the highway without a sidewalk)
A very interesting place, great guides! It is a wonderful park for walking and very informative. Be sure to book an excursion - you will learn a lot about the life of wonderful and hardworking people;) We should also mention the views of the city - they are beautiful - you will not regret it. But keep in mind that you will have to walk a lot.
The idea is excellent, the implementation is average. Maybe it's because I was in early March, out of season. Most of the cabins are closed. Not all hotels are open and have a guide. Where there is, it's also different: someone tells interesting and sincere stories, someone a little dry. Somewhere there is in Russian, somewhere in English. But in general, I didn't regret watching Georgian life even so much. I love this, all kinds of ancient objects, and so on, how people lived. They didn't offer a tour, but it wouldn't hurt, because they don't tell you everything inside, and it's not very intuitive where to go in what order. You enter a giant park and get lost, the doors of the houses are mostly inhospitally closed, even those that work.
A separate question for Yandex.Maps, which took me for 2 hours through mountains and wastelands and eventually did not lead me to the right place, although I climbed hundreds of steps from Vake Park, walked for a long time ... I had to call a taxi. For some reason, along the route, as the taxi was traveling, I was not guided on foot, I walked everywhere into a dead end and a wasteland. Don't repeat my feat, call a taxi right away! Of course, the fatigue of searching also had a slightly negative effect on my perception of the museum, since after 2 hours of searching and dragging up and down the mountains and literally through the garbage, expectations were probably too high. In general, I recommend visiting. I would probably come once more in the season, maybe everything will be open, there will be guided tours and it will be clearer where to go, at least for the crowd
