I studied at this college for 2.5 years with a degree in Technology and Catering Organization — in other words, I studied to be a cook and waiter. Now, looking back, I can give a frank assessment to those who are just about to enroll or are just considering this educational institution.
If you think that by enrolling here, you will get the fundamental knowledge and skills that will lift you to the top of the restaurant Olympus, unfortunately not. Already in the second year, specialized training begins: chemistry, drawing and "Cooking Technology" (hereinafter referred to as CCI). And at first, everything seems interesting. It can really get you carried away, especially if you come with burning eyes and a dream of becoming a cool chef.
But disappointment comes very soon. During laboratory work, that is, the practical part where you cook food, there are constantly not enough products, especially if your occupation is one of the last. Also, do not forget that this is a lab, and along with the food, you should have a recipe for what everyone is cooking, that is, 3-4 dishes, rewritten in a notebook. What for? Why? I still couldn't give myself an answer to this question, but without it, you won't be appreciated. That is, no matter how cool you cook the dishes and how high-quality, without writing, you will just get 1-2 points.
Theoretical classes at the beginning provide a useful base — terms, methods of processing products, technological processes. But then everything slides into a set of facts from tiktok, which you just need to memorize.
It's hard for me to say anything about the 3-4 course, because during this period I was already disappointed in the choice of a place of study and, roughly speaking, I gave up on studying. Dreams of creative cuisine and delicious dishes have given way to harsh reality: working in the cafeteria, where you become the same Aunt Galya, cooking 30 liters of porridge for kindergarten. However, it is at the senior courses that interesting teachers and non-standard disciplines appear, for example, philosophy and business design. Special thanks to Olga Kasabutskaya for her inspiring approach to teaching and the final project in which we defended our own business ideas.
Also at this moment, 2 more main subjects appear — "Catering" and "Equipment". These are some kind of waiter subjects, and the second part of your specialty is waiter. It's strange to study to get a degree where it is given when applying for a job, but some knowledge can really be useful to those who want to become a gym administrator or service manager.
Practice is a separate and perhaps the most painful topic, which is the complete embodiment of the system's hatred of young professionals and bullying of students. You can't choose a place, it all depends on the master. I was lucky: my master, Elena Viktorovna, was a real support, protected the students and tried to be on our side. Thank her very much!
But in general, practice is hard work. You are sent to the institutions where you work:
-longer than you should be;
- without payment;
- They will throw all the dreary work at you;
- You will not be considered and for the slightest mistake you will be scolded as a real employee..
Therefore, practice is the very moment when you realize that this is not what you did it for, unfortunately and it is a pity.
The brightest thing left of the college is the teachers. Most of them are sympathetic, kind and understanding people. They perceive students as adults, and you can have a heart-to-heart conversation with them, make jokes, and get real help. Many people are willing to spend their personal time for your success.
But there is also a controversial point: you will not be expelled. Never. You will be drawn to the minimum score (which has recently reached 3), even if you do not want to study. This may seem like a plus to some, but I think it undermines the overall level of training.
My review is not an attempt to dissuade anyone. I'm just sharing my experience. If you consciously choose this path, are ready for difficulties and have no illusions, you may find your advantage in this college. But if you dream of a big and creative culinary future, think again.

On the downside: The scheduling is disgusting, why are there offices on the schedule that don't exist a priori?? There is also no fixed schedule, but only for the day ahead. There are huge queues in the canteens. The renovation leaves much to be desired, many of the teachers say that the chairs of this college are more than 20 years old, and they also tear their clothes.. There was a question, is it so difficult to buy new ones for the large amount that the payers pay? Well, at least fix it so that it doesn't creak.. Also, be careful, some teachers have a biased attitude.. And the most banal thing is that the doors in the toilets don't close and the cubicles themselves are terribly dirty every day. It's not particularly pleasant when you're in the bathroom and a teacher opens the door for you, which has already happened to me, but they haven't even tried to repair it for a year in a row, although in fact it's done once or twice.. A nurse is a separate topic, sometimes she is, sometimes she is not, she comes whenever she wants. Why do I have to come to couples at a certain time, but she doesn't? There is a set work schedule and if it is not followed, then write "when it will be, then it will be", and not a specific time, you know, it's not very good to wait an hour for a nurse with severe pain, you can't sit quietly on a couple, and you won't be able to skip a state employee, so you just have to sit and wait, or when it will get worse, or she will deign to appear. I'll mention unsanitary conditions again. A cleaner appears here, God forbid, once every six months, because I cannot explain that the garbage left by unscrupulous students can lie for days or even weeks, if not more (photo below), there is also dirt in the toilets, dirt everywhere.
On the plus side: good teachers are mostly only in the 2nd and 3rd year. I have not yet met those who want to fail intentionally, they often get into a position where they are kind and most of them are quite interesting in their subjects.
The college is really good!
Especially if you compare all the other colleges in the city of Mogilev.
Teaching staff and education at the highest level, as well as the interaction and relationship of teachers with students(students).
