Admission is free for all ages. It's open every day of the week. The ship is a replica. But even though it's a ship with an important meaning, do you look for the types who pose as a Titanic man-to-man, the ones who make fun of wax sculptures? Now let's tell what the Alemdar Ship did. in 1914, I. With the beginning of the world war II, the right to operate coal January is given to the Germans. The Russians, angry at this, have been shelling the Black Sea coast of Eregli at frequent intervals for December 2. After the World War II, when Anatolia was occupied and divided by European states, the French came to Karadeniz Ereğli, but they did not succeed in occupying it. During the War of Independence, a small warship named Alemdar, which was hijacked by patriots from occupied Istanbul, was wanted to be seized by the French, who dominated Zonguldak and the Black Sea. On February 9, 1920, the patriots who brought the Alemdar to the Black Sea port of Ereğli ran the ship aground and did not hand it over to the French. The French, angry at the patriots taking refuge in Karadeniz Ereğli, wanted to occupy the city, but as a result of the struggle of the people of Karadeniz Ereğli, they could not succeed. The French, who bombed the areas of the city near the coast, including the hospital, from the sea, were subjected to a counterattack as a result of the secret floating of the Alemdar ship. Some French commanders and soldiers who were taken prisoner by the people of Karadeniz Ereğli on June 18, 1921, were forced to sign an agreement with the Republic of Turkey, which had not yet been established. This agreement was the first international agreement of Turkey in the War of Independence and is an indication that the National Salvation Government has been accepted. This success, which was achieved as a result of the struggle of the people of Karadeniz Eregli during the War of Independence, has formed the basis of the victories won by the Republic of Turkey. In this way, the first and only naval battle of the War of Independence took place in the Karadeniz Ereğli. In order to keep this event of historical importance alive, a one-to-one example of the Gazi Alemdar Ship was built and opened for service as a museum on 08.08.2008.
