There are several cities in Cappadocia, but in Goreme the main area is both the take-off sites of balloons and the beginning of hiking trails through valleys/canyons. If you are going to see Cappadocia, then it is better to stay here.
Cappadocia is famous for its quaint landscape. After the volcanic eruption, the area was covered with various geological rocks, including tuff. Tuff is a porous, light rock and volcanic rock, it is easy to process, well hollowed out, and hardens over time. To this day, there are still those who continue to live in tufa dwellings. And these houses look very interesting.
Many people come here to fly/or take pictures against the background of a hot air balloon.
No one knows in advance whether the balloons will fly tomorrow. Early in the morning, the weather is assessed, after which the mission control decides yes or no. So be prepared for the possibility that you may not be able to do this.
I was lucky! I have fulfilled my long-held dream.
But in general, it's very interesting here even without balloons and there is something to see.
You must visit!)
Cappadocia as a whole is an incredible place. Unique mountains! The monuments created by nature are harmoniously combined with the mountain "architecture" - numerous creations of human hands. You need to see it at least once!
