I went on May 31, as part of the cast of extras for the film "Abylai Khan", it was very hot, the wind picked up in the evening and it became quite cool.
1) this is not an attraction, but rather a decoration made of sand and sticks! Some of the decorations are flimsy and are already breaking down.
2) the culture of people leaves much to be desired, in many places I noticed cigarette butts and garbage were thrown into a nearby house.
3) the river is wide-water, cold but not icy.
4) the guard is a bit rude, but he didn't spoil the impression.
5) The road is not very good either, so draw conclusions.
An amazing place! It is a must to visit! It would be more interesting if there was a guide. Tell us how it was built, for which film, who played the actors and, of course, the history of the country
An interesting place on the banks of the Ili River. In general, you can get there by car, the road is quite good. Unfortunately, the city is not being cared for, which gradually leads to its destruction. There is no special point in going to the city, a maximum of 30 minutes walk, but you can swim in the river, there is a beach, but there is a strong current, you need to be careful.
First, I'll tell you where it is and how to get there.
An important fact. You can get there only by car, as part of an excursion or by taxi. The location is located approximately 25 kilometers from the city of Konaev. (About an hour by bus from Almaty)
THERE IS NO CONNECTION. Therefore, if you are going to take a taxi there, immediately arrange for the return trip. Yandex will not go there and you will not be able to call it there.
I drove to the location by private taxi, which are parked at the Konaev railway station. I paid 12,000 tenge in both directions.
Entrance to the territory is 1500 tenge.
Do not agree to individual tours for 100,000 tenge. This place is just a set erected for the filming of a movie. Now they are in a deplorable state. But the place still looks quite atmospheric.
The road to the city of nomads is unpaved - be careful.
At the entrance, the muddy types demanded payment of 3,000 tenge per person for admission, they do not give checks.. The buildings are very shaky, everything creaks.. It 's like it's about to fall apart .. Poop is everywhere..
And so it 's normal .. at least some kind of repair/maintenance of buildings would not hurt.. Otherwise , an accident might happen ..
It is interesting to visit the scenery of the film, but no more. If tourism were developed: they would monitor the condition of the building, put up information stands, it would be very cool. As it is, it's just a building made of cement and sticks that will crumble one day
A very interesting place, on a sunny winter day, especially magical.
I advise you to come in summer or spring. The wind blows cold in winter.
Of the minuses: 3000 tenge for three, it seems a little expensive, just to walk around the scenery
It's a great place! How would you like to visit an ancient town! The decorations created are impressive. The nature around is amazing. The only thing is that the road after the exit from the asphalt is bad, the dirt goes into the foothills. 10 kilometers along it. But it's worth it!
The nature is great. The river is very beautiful and wide nearby. The castle itself is 3/5. You can visit it. They charge 1,500 per person for admission
The property is in private hands, falling apart, it would be possible to monitor the state of the scenery, and attract tourists, very authentic) but with the attitude we have now, I think in a couple of years nothing will remain
the place is beautiful, the road is very bad, at least not for expensive cars on a jeep, it will not be difficult to get there. I drove a Mercedes w212 in 2010. it was like a mini adventure. great photos turned out. I swam in a mountain river. the current is very large. I recommend.
An interesting place. Before visiting, I advise you to watch the film "Nomad" by Bodrov, where the film was shot. The photo shoot turns out to be stunning, the landscape is colorful.
Be sure to take water and food, wet wipes: there is nowhere to buy or it is expensive (or it has run out if it is very hot). We were at the end of August and there was an unrealistic number of midges, I just wanted to cover my face with a net. Unfortunately, there are few places to sit: there is only one cafe and a small canopy. You can sit along the river only if you take a high chair or a rug with you, because there are no stones or logs. On the river Or there is an opportunity to take a boat ride, cross to the other side and see the real ancient rock paintings.
Very beautiful views of Ili and inside the settlement. You can make a great photo shoot, especially if you prepare well in advance.
Entrance is paid. I didn't like that the garbage was poorly cleaned. There is garbage everywhere in the corners inside the settlement. There is no infrastructure as such. Off-road.
Although, the beauty of nature interrupts everything. Imagine that you are just going to nature!
The fortress was created for filming movies. It was originally created for the film "Nomad", but then it began to be used in other films, and money began to be earned on it. You can go once if you don't mind the car. The road is not very good, to put it mildly. It is advisable to drive an SUV or crossover. The views around are beautiful, mountains, river Or. Is it worth it, taking into account the entrance fee to the fortress, I think it's not worth it. There are many attractions in Kazakhstan that are located in more comfortable conditions and have a truly historical value.

The city of nomads is something incredible! On the advice of friends, we went on tour with Melon Travel. Thanks to their organizer Anton Baranov, the trip was easy and without worries. I highly recommend it!
Look carefully at the signs on the road so as not to miss the turns, 12-15 kilometers along the country road, the road is frankly bad, it is better to go by jeep. The city itself is certainly impressive, but in summer there are so many midges that they can eat. There are no retail outlets, just a checkpoint with an entrance fee. Inside the town, you can take a walk, climb to the second floor. I was surprised by the garbage, the bottles inside the town, it's strange that at least they can't remove the garbage.
For me, the location does not deserve such a long journey. Everything is in a sad state, it's about to fall apart.
It is worth going here only if the main goal is to rest on Or
The place is interesting, perfect for a photo shoot. But you need to be very careful, the second floor is already falling apart. At your own risk and peril (
Everything is very old and in poor condition, Old decorations, there is nothing interesting to look at. There is no paved road, you need to drive off-road for about 2 km
I expected more!!! Out of 120 km, 30 km of disgusting road. The cost of visiting 1500 tenge for adults and 1000 tenge for children is unreasonably overstated. There is no proper toilet. We could keep the decorations in proper shape. Everything is pouring out. One of the advantages is the picturesque nature .
We celebrated each other, had a very good time, hunted crayfish at night, fished, swam, rode a boat and walked through the wild during the day. And the sky at night fascinates the spirit, you will not see such beauty in the city!
It's a beautiful place. And if you have the opportunity to go there, do it. Judging by the current state, this castle is unlikely to last long. At the same time, be prepared for the fact that the road is very bad. It is better to drive a car with all-wheel drive because there is a risk of getting stuck in the sand.
The city is great. The place is beautiful. There are mountains and nature around the city, or the river is also close. The disadvantage is that people leave a lot of garbage behind them when they can take it with them and everything will be clean. They don't appreciate what they have. Well, the road to the City of Nomads is terrible. She just doesn't exist. You can drive strictly in Jeeps on passenger cars, but it will be harder. From the Kapchegai highway, you can drive about 20 km cleanly, you can tell by the off-road. In general, everything is cool except the road and garbage.
We go there every year with friends. You have to pay at the entrance. The entrance fee to the castle must be paid separately. The film Nomads was shot in it. And a clip of Jah Khalib. You can go fishing on Or. The roads are bad. I drove by in a jeep. I saw the accent arrive there.
It's interesting how the scenery of the film is. Otherwise, so-so. Collapsing, falling apart into pieces. The place is being esplated and not supported in any way.
It looks better from the outside. Everything inside is dilapidated and it is quite dangerous to climb the structures. But for the filming of photo shoots, selfies, clips, that's the thing.
We were here, it was beautiful, but it was windy. By the way, we didn't stop by the first time, Yandex map got it wrong, off-road, the network doesn't catch it, so take cash. Entrance is for adults 1000, children 500. And there are always a lot of people on weekends.
It has completely fallen into disrepair. They also surrounded it with a chain link. They are trying to take money for travel through the territory. And there is trash and garbage all around.
