A great hotel. Large, comfortable two-room rooms. Everything is clean, neat and delicious. Cons: 1) there is no private beach, you need to walk 400 meters to the beach, across the street. 2) the wines and alcohol in the hotel restaurant are frankly bad for a lot of money. For example, 27 euros for a bottle of wine that costs 4 euros in the store.

We stayed at this hotel with our spouse from September 18 to October 2, 2019. We liked the hotel, were warmly welcomed, we arrived at the hotel at 9.30, we were told that the room would be ready at 12, we were offered breakfast and leave our suitcases in the designated place.
The breakfast is delicious, eggs in different types, bacon,sausages,sliced sausage /cheese,vegetable,cottage cheese,yoghurts,fruits,many different pastries,jams. In the following days, the menu changed slightly, new dishes were added.We had more dinners, they were also very tasty and varied, drinks were not included, but this is not a problem, I read the reviews and knew about it, sometimes we bought something.But to be honest, you can only take breakfast, and have lunch and dinner in taverns, there are a lot of them nearby, the prices are affordable.
We got a good room, it was cleaned every day.
The hotel has three outdoor pools, a spa, a sauna, and a gym.
Every Wednesday there is a small program "Cretan evening".
I really liked the location of the hotel, the sea is close (cross the road and walk a little for 3-4 minutes), the beach is beautiful, sandy with a small strip of medium-sized pebbles at the entrance. The entrance is smooth, but the depth is almost immediately, after a meter and a half somewhere. We were lucky with the weather for two weeks it stormed for only two days and then the waves were not very big, the sea was only a little muddy.
The water is warm 24-26 , the air is 28-30.
The hotel is located in the village of Platanias near Rethymno, 20 minutes by bus, tickets can be bought at the hotel store for 1.5 euros, it seems.
I highly recommend visiting Rethymno, especially the old town.And be sure to eat in one of the cozy cafes that are located in the picturesque narrow streets.
In general, we were quite satisfied with the hotel.Especially trying to please the guests and take care of all Nectaria at the reception (speaks Russian), Michalis in the restaurant, Rose in the jewelry store (good discounts and assortment, pay attention to traditional silver jewelry in gilt, affordable price and a wonderful souvenir and gift).
It seems that I have fallen in love with Crete and can talk for a long time about this wonderful place.I would love to return to this hotel again, but we want to see the other side of Crete next time.

Great hotel. Because of one sagging mattress and a dripping air conditioner, I put 4. Otherwise, a very good hotel. Maybe you were unlucky with the number.
