A significant part of the population of Djurdjevo are Rusyns, they are also Carpatho-Russians, who moved here from Transcarpathia 250 years ago. They have preserved their language and culture. They profess Eastern Rite Catholicism (Greek Catholicism). Very friendly and kind-hearted people who remember their ancient homeland, who treat Russians and Russia as a whole with warmth.
