A tale about reputational losses "The price is off the ceiling"
In some kingdom, in some state…
On Saturday, it was necessary to urgently check the video card in benchmarks. I couldn't do it myself, because the ordered power supply in the online store was supposed to arrive only on Monday. I decided that checking in a computer workshop, not far from the house, which works on weekends, is the best option.
I called and asked if it was possible to do certain tests that I needed, they told me that yes. Only the guy from the workshop immediately began to cram his "competence" into me, that he did not see the point in certain tasks that I asked him about, but still agreed. It bothered me a little, but come on.
In the workshop, when assembling the stand for inspection, at the sight of a squishy motherboard holding only on some kind of board, I asked what kind of components were on the stand, I was afraid of the video card, to which the guy with the earring in his ear began to grin, as if I was some kind of fool who came in dirty rubber boots in a modern art gallery.
And here is the most interesting thing. Since the test was supposed to take 30 minutes - an hour and I had to go home, I decided to leave the video card in the workshop. And when I asked how much the check would cost, the guy with the earring in his ear said 15 rubles. If someone does not know, then any 5th grader can cope with checking in benchmarks, there is a task to click 3 times with the mouse and periodically look so that temperatures do not exceed and no artifacts come out. 15 rubles! When I said that it was too much for this type of work, the guy with the earring in his ear answered me literally the following: "I can do the test for 10 rubles, I have a normal hour of 50 rubles. Just for 10 rubles, I do not give you a guarantee that everything will be fine with the card, because I will go to another room to do my own business. Do you want it for 10 rubles, but I don't give you any guarantee? Would you like to?"
To put it mildly, I was surprised. What? VTF? I mean, you don't give a guarantee? I stood for a minute, but there was nothing to do, I had a force majeure situation, I had to check the card.
When I took the card, the guy with the earring in his ear was deliberately kind, tried to be scrupulous when giving me the video card. Of course, for 15 rubles! For work in 3 rubles.
I do not dispute that complex technical work requiring knowledge, skills and experience should be paid accordingly. But the work that any student can handle should also cost accordingly. But that's business, really.
I will come here again if some difficult technical task arises, probably. Whether the impressions after visiting this workshop are pleasant, definitely not.

There was a question about repairing a new motherboard (when installing the processor, I bent the socket contacts) To Harmony service, I was in the workshop at Lenin 9. They did nothing there, but at the same time they tore off 35 rubles allegedly for diagnostics and charged the repair price, which was cheaper to buy a new motherboard. A month later, I contacted Harmony Service. Everything was done there very quickly (the socket was replaced during the day), efficiently, and most importantly - inexpensively. I was very pleased. Everything is at the highest level.

Great guys. I got to them by accident when I was looking for where to update the BIOS on the motherboard. I brought them the whole case and a small diagnosis was carried out. They still didn't have a processor that would fit my motherboard, but they advised me which is the cheapest processor I can buy for these purposes, and then put it on the flea market. The difference will not be more expensive than the firmware service. They didn't charge me any money, although they spent at least half an hour on me.
The next day I went back to them when I couldn't assemble the computer correctly on my own. Within an hour, the engineer did everything and even replaced the rack for the motherboard (one of them was too short).
I was pleasantly surprised that the entire diagnostic process and the rest of the work was done right before my eyes. I could rest assured that all actions would be coordinated with me. In the process, it was nice to chat with the guys. It is clear that they love their work.

If you repair implicit problems, then this is not for them. It looks like the guys are friends only with Captain Obvious. They don't even want to take up diagnostics. It can be seen that there is zero experience and professionalism. I came to them with a computer power supply according to local reviews (apparently the positive ones were written by them themselves or by people who do not understand anything about computer hardware at all). The symptom is that there is a duty station, there are no meals, it does not start. I have already read beforehand that SHIMKA is most likely to blame. But the "master" started telling me about diagnostics, the stand and other nonsense. And about how the repair will result in the cost of a new BP for me. Although my PSU itself is not cheap. I gave it to a friend who is more into electronics. The verdict is SHIM. An order for 5 bucks (10 pcs, even in my opinion) on Alik and BP is alive! There is a motherboard on the B450 with 4 broken tracks, but this is certainly not for them.

I managed to bend the legs during the installation of the processor into the socket, the upper PCIe slot did not work and there were other problems. I thought it was a marriage, I wanted to hand it over under warranty, but the motherboard was not accepted - mechanical damage. As a result, when the stone was re-installed, the system did not start at all. I decided to ask the guys for help - as a last attempt before buying another mother. And at this point I want to express my great gratitude - the legs were restored (bent - straightened, a couple of missing ones were returned to their place). All problems are gone - the video was found, everything turns on without problems. Thank you for the work done and competent advice!

The laptop did not want to start, the repairers found out that the wrong RAM was inserted, in the end I brought my other one and everything worked.
